İlhan considers it one of the best made romcoms in years 🥹 • İpek: So, what did the character in "Aşk Mantık İntikam" leave you with? • İlhan: Ozan... “Aşk Mantık İntikam” was a project I was very afraid of. Because it was my first time doing a romantic comedy, and I was working with real (experienced) masters of this genre... Like dear Günay, dear Zeynep, dear Birgül... and our own cast group was filled with wonderful people as well, including my dear partner Burcu. It really scared me because [I wondered] how well I could pull it off, where the limits were... After all, it's not strictly a comedy, nor is it purely a drama. Its name in the world is romantic comedy. It has romance, it has comedy, and it has drama from time to time. But I think we pulled it off. It's probably the best romantic comedy made in many, many years. • İpek: I suppose it brought you a work discipline, didn't it? • İlhan: Yes, because, İpek, sometimes you can see that, for example, in a romantic comedy, you can always keep your energy high. Because the audience expects that from you, the work expects that, the script expects that, everyone expects that from you. You need to be constantly energetic, I mean, full of inner energy, your eyes need to sparkle. And after such long working hours, developing the ability to keep your eyes sparkling like that was actually a wonderful experience for me. Because no matter what time of day it is, even if it's the fourth day of the week and maybe the last scene of the day, it might be the very first scene in the script. The episode might open with it. And you need to put a lot, a lot of energy into it. • İpek: A very strong performance... • İlhan: A very strong performance... Memorization goes without saying... Being open to improvisations... Because by the nature of the show, when there's a lot of dialogue, you have to be very open to improvising. You need to be able to enter and exit those beautiful moments of the other person. You need to be able to respond to them. That's why I really gained so much experience in Aşk Mantık İntikam. By watching, learning, and doing... And in the end, the project found a really great place. That's why people loved it so much. It's still very popular abroad. It's still being watched,and we still receive messages from there.
