Posting to mark the sad news that Marion Fossett of Ireland’s 1981 #Eurovision entry Sheeba has died, aged 71. Marion (on the right) was ring mistress of Ireland’s premier circus, Fossett’s circus and a household name in Ireland for most of her life. RIP

35 years ago 🇸🇪 Sweden won #Eurovision in Rome with “Fångad av en stormvind” performed by Carola. The tie break rule applied as Sweden and 🇫🇷 France tied in the voting. Both with the same number of 12s, Sweden received more 10s and were declared winners

27 years ago today 🇸🇪 Sweden won the 44th #Eurovision in Jerusalem with Charlotte Nilsson (Perrelli) and “Take Me To Your Heaven”. The orchestra was no more from 1999, replaced by backing tracks and countries were free to choose which language to sing in
