In memory of all the sisters we have lost to violence at the hands of men in 2024, I carry each of your stories deeply in my heart. Each name, each face, is a reminder of why we must continue this fight. We will never stop saying her name. She will never be forgotten. Rest in Power. #womenforchange #sayhername #aminext

On 11 April, Women For Change stood at the Union Buildings, carrying more than a symbolic object, we carried the collective grief of a nation. We brought a casket. One that was built 33.8% larger, draped in mourning, and adorned with 5,578 purple beads, - each bead a name, a story, a woman murdered in South Africa in just one year. Inside that casket - the beautiful smiles of some of our sisters we have lost, and the pain of over 150,000 voices who signed our petition, pleading for GBVF to be declared a National Disaster. This campaign wasn’t created for awards - it was born out of heartbreak, out of rage, out of love. To now see it recognised by Ads of the World is deeply moving, not for the spotlight, but because it forces the world to see what our leaders still deny: femicide is South Africa’s real pandemic. Thank you to the amazing team at Edelman Africa and to everyone who poured their heart, creativity, and compassion into this campaign. Our casket will never be buried. It will now travel across cities, towns, and provinces - a solemn protest, a powerful reminder that Women For Change will not stop. We will not be silenced. Not until no woman walks in fear. Not until our cries lead to action. Not until change comes. #womenforchange #UnburyTheTruth #aminext

Dear Joshlin, two years have passed since the day you disappeared, and not a single day has gone by that your name has been forgotten. You were only six years old, a little Grade 1 girl with a whole life ahead of you. Dreams still forming. Laughter still echoing through your home. A future that should have been filled with safety, friends and fun. Instead, your name became a national cry for justice. People from across South Africa stood together for you. They searched for you. They marched for you. They prayed for you. Your face was carried on posters, shared across timelines, and held in the hearts of strangers who had never met you but cared deeply about bringing you home. We will continue to say your name. We speak it because you matter. We speak it because you are not forgotten. We speak it because every child deserves protection, safety, and love. We will carry your little soul with us - in every demand for accountability, in every call for stronger systems to protect children, in every conversation about trafficking and violence. Joshlin, we wish you were safe. We wish you were home. We wish this story had a different ending. You will never be forgotten, Joshlin. 💜 #womenforchange

🟣 STAND WITH US TO END GBVF 🟣 This Friday, 11 April 2025, we rise as one united voice at the Union Buildings to hand over our petition - now with over 144,000 signatures. This is for every sister we’ve lost, every survivor still fighting, and every woman and child still living in fear. This Friday, we will unbury the truth and demand that GBVF be declared a National Disaster. Whether you’ll be with us in Pretoria or supporting from afar, join us in taking a stand against GBV and femicide. 🟣 Change your profile picture to purple. 💜 Take a stand, wherever you are. Because every voice matters, and together, we become impossible to ignore. #WomenForChange #EnoughSaid #GBVFNationalDisaster #UnburyTheTruth #AmINext #SayHerName #EndGBV
