Winnipeg, we need to talk about impaired driving. Our Checkstop Enforcement teams had an alarming week – and not for the right reasons. Here’s what they encountered: •35 impaired drivers. Yes, you read that right. Thirty-five. Even one is too many. •Two drivers were found passed out behind the wheel. •One driver continued driving after sideswiping multiple parked vehicles. •Another tested positive for cocaine. •Most disturbingly, one impaired driver had a 5-year-old child in the backseat. This isn’t just a safety concern; it’s a call to action. We must do better, Winnipeg. Plan ahead. Arrange a safe ride home. Never, ever drive impaired.
