Vienna still has six WW2 flak towers - this one, the “G-Tower”, stands in Augarten. It was built between July 1944 – January 1945. It could deliver thousands of rounds per minute in total, mostly from 20 mm and 37 mm guns. During raids, the complex sheltered up to about 10,000 civilians. #History #WWII

POV: You’re looking at the great-grandfather of the modern combat drone. 🤖💥 Meet the Sd.Kfz. 303 Goliath, Germany’s gamble on a remote-controlled demolition vehicle. From the massive tank battles of Kursk to the Atlantic Wall at Normandy and the urban ruins of Warsaw, the Goliath was a persistent, if flawed, threat. You can find this survivor on display at the Warsaw Rising Museum in Warsaw, Poland. #History #WWII
