One of my first and most ambitious project ideas when I started to learn front-end webapp development was to create an interactive skew-t/hodograph viewer where the profile could be modified through keyboard inputs— the first of its kind on a web platform— where parameters would update as you modified the profile. 10,000 lines of code and over a year of development later, that vision now lives in Storm Chase Archive. The right and left arrows warm and cool selected points on the skew-t. The up and down arrows adiabatically lift or descend those selected points. Those same four keys move the u- and v- wind components of the selected hodograph points. More announcements about my interactive skew-t/hodograph, including a real-time version, later.
