Gaza-bound aid ship likely stranded at sea for months: ‘The crew is stuck’ A day after explosions rocked the Gaza-bound Freedom Flotilla, the ship remains stranded at sea with no flag, a damaged generator, and regional ports threatening seizure if it docks *** The ship’s generator was severely damaged, the activist said, and it must be repaired. However, regional countries are refusing to let the ship dock and have threatened to seize it. A new video released Friday from onboard the ship shows at least two large holes in the deck, surrounded by thick smoke. “We were bombed twice!” the person filming can be heard shouting. Earlier, the first photos from the damaged deck were published, showing significant destruction. The vessel, named Conscience, had been sailing under the flag of Palau in recent months. But according to activist Tighe Barry, who tried to reach the ship Friday, the Pacific island nation revoked the ship’s flag prior to the attack. Now, the vessel is apparently without a flag — exposing it to legal and logistical limitations, including being barred from docking. Huckabee’s visit took place against the backdrop of explosions from the Gaza Strip caused by ongoing military operations. In his opening remarks, school principal Eyal Dvori turned to Huckabee and said: “Yaffa Rudaeff, an art teacher who is here with us, is still waiting for her partner, Lior, whose body remains held in Gaza. Do everything in your power to bring back the hostages and end the war.” During the visit, Huckabee was asked by Ynet whether the U.S. administration believes Israel should end the war and whether Washington is setting a deadline. “Israel has to get the hostages back and Israel has to defeat Hamas,” he said. “Those are the two goals that President Trump has made very clear — and how that happens is something that Israel has to decide.” He added that the objectives are also a condition to “protect children throughout the land of Israel."
