A Japanese blogger criticized a Chinese influencer for being annoying in Nara, Japan. Here are my thoughts on this: First of all, the video wasn't even shot in Nara—it was taken at a zoo in China. Before pointing fingers, people should at least get their facts straight. I'll admit, I do find this girl's behavior somewhat annoying as well. But the truth is, it's not just China—countries all over the world have plenty of low-bar influencers who chase views with cheap, low-effort content. This is a global issue, not a problem unique to any one country. As for the deer in Nara, they have injured tourists from many different countries. Instead of putting all the blame on visitors, the local government should reflect on the situation and implement proper safety measures to prevent further incidents.

This is exactly the kind of rhetoric that incites hostility between China and Japan that I was talking about. ヤバそれまじかよ Answering a phone call on the subway is wrong, but saying "fuck" to an Asian girl (and it's not even certain whether she is Chinese), recording it without consent, and posting it online—that's supposed to be right? Take a look at his hand, it's pretty obvious that it doesn't quite look like an Asian Japanese person's either.
