Rare footage from 1964 captures NBA legend Bill Russell arriving in Mississippi at the invitation of civil rights leader Charles Evers. Russell calmly explains to the press that he is there to conduct integrated basketball clinics across the state. Russell draws a striking parallel, noting he had just returned from doing the exact same goodwill work for the U.S. State Department in Eastern Europe.
