A Palestinian American activist recalls being in South Africa when it brought its case against Israel to the International Court of Justice. At a moment when many Palestinians felt the world had turned away, she says the filing carried a Zulu greeting, Sawubona - “I see you.” She describes the hearings as a rare moment of public dignity, watched worldwide the way people watch the World Cup, and as a message that Palestinians were seen on the international stage.

Frank Chikane, veteran South African 🇿🇦 anti-apartheid activist and theologian just said what millions are thinking: 'It is shocking that the world allows Palestinians to be occupied for 57 years and Gaza blockaded for 16 years... If this happened in America or any Western country, there would be HELL. They would call it self-defense, not terrorism.'This can only be settler colonial, racist apartheid thinking. The double standards are deafening.
