Yves reflects on how her relationship with fans has evolved during Q&A at the fansign with interAsia “Back then, when I looked at the fans, they were always supporting me, thankfully, but there was also some concern mixed in. I could kind of feel that they were looking at me with a bit of worry, like, ‘Will our Sooyoung be able to do well?’. But now, they completely trust me and the things I do. It feels like they have a lot of expectations for them, so I think things have changed in a positive way. Things were always good, but now it feels like they trust me even more. Uh... kind of like a mother? So I’m really grateful, too. When I first started doing fansigns alone, I used to feel so awkward. I was really embarrassed and everything, but now it feels like I’m doing a comedy show with them together. So, when I see the fans here, they’re so cute. Seriously, they’re so cute. Their eyes are sparkling and everything. I love it so much. Somehow, this time feels really precious, and I’m getting older, you know? So, when you get older… I’m serious, really. I’ll be thirty next year. I’m serious! But as you get older, you become more prone to tears, you know. You wouldn’t understand. Sometimes, even ordinary everyday moments suddenly make me feel grateful and sad. So, when I’m doing a fansign, every now and then I think, ‘Ah, right... when will we get to sit across from each other and talk like this again?’. And then I suddenly feel so grateful. So I think getting choked up like that from time to time is something that’s different from how I was at the beginning”
