The shooting at Silver Rail Elementary in Bend, Oregon, now raises a legal question after law enforcement sources told CBS the 16 year-old shooter was killed by someone with a concealed carry permit. Oregon law generally makes possessing a firearm on school grounds a Class C felony. Bend-La Pine Schools adopted a policy under ORS 166.377 that removes the usual concealed-handgun-license defense, meaning even a licensed carrier can face a charge, reduced to a Class A misdemeanor under the applicable provision. Oregon law also allows the use of force, including deadly force, to defend another person from an imminent unlawful threat. That justification can cover the shooting itself but does not automatically eliminate a separate possession charge. Whether prosecutors would pursue charges against a concealed-carry holder who stopped an active school shooter depends on the specific facts and the district attorney’s discretion. Those facts have not yet been established publicly. Will prosecutors actually charge the concealed-carry holder who stopped the shooter, or will they decline to? Thank God this random person stopped this monster from killing and harming more people, including kids. Prayers 🙏 More details as I get them.

🚨 PRAYERS PLEASE for Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Deputy Adam Sherifi, who was killed in the line of duty Tuesday night, just weeks after celebrating his 31st birthday. Adam leaves behind the woman he loved, Kyleigh, and their three children, including a baby born just last month. His youngest will grow up with no memories of their daddy, and all three children will have to face life without the father who should have been there to watch them grow up. Behind that badge was a man whose family meant everything to him. Kyleigh shared a heartbreaking tribute to Adam, remembering his courage, kindness, and the love he had for those around him. “You were brave, you were strong, and you were kind. You laughed hard and you loved harder.” She shared how proud she was of him and how grateful she would always be for the memories they made together. “I know you are in a better place now and watching over me and your babies.” Adam was helping serve felony warrants at a home south of Canton, Texas, when authorities say someone inside opened fire. Adam was killed, another officer was wounded. Please keep Kyleigh, their three children, Adam’s family, his fellow deputies, and the wounded Canton police officer in your prayers. This family has an unimaginable road ahead of them. RIP, Deputy Sherifi. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. 🙏

🚨#UPDATE: News helicopters are being told to GET AWAY from the site. I guess they forgot about the potential ONE MILE blast radius if this thing explodes. 🤔 The North Toledo chemical leak involves a 5,500-gallon tank containing glycidyl methacrylate, a flammable industrial chemical. Nearly 1,000 residents were evacuated within a 1-mile radius, while people within 3 miles were ordered to shelter in place. Hazmat crews have been keeping their distance because of the explosion risk. One sheriff's deputy has reportedly sought medical attention after the incident.

🚨 ATLANTA ARTIST ACCUSED OF SLAPPING WOMAN FROM STAGE.. Here is the Slap, he almost takes her head off. The slap could be heard over the concert music. Atlanta artist Skye Watley is accused of slapping a woman from the stage during a concert at Lonsdale Performing Arts Theater in Tucker, Georgia. Shamika Boyd was attending the show to watch her daughter, DJ Jada Boyd, when video allegedly shows Watley reach down from the stage and strike Boyd across the head. Boyd says the incident left her with two black eyes. “When he hit me, I was devastated. He had no reason to hit me. I did nothing to him. He was in no harm, no threat.” Boyd says Watley then flipped her off and said something along the lines of, “F U… this is for the real men.” over here hulking out, not sure why. Her daughter, Jada, said she did not know her mother had been hit until afterward and wants justice. Boyd’s attorney, Shannon Render, says they intend to sue for medical bills, travel expenses, lost work and recovery costs. A police report has been filed. Boyd and her attorney say they have not been able to reach Watley. 11Alive reports Watley’s Instagram account was made private, his Facebook account was deactivated, and an email sent through his Linktree received no response. I saw this, and I had to share this one..

They were trying to protect us... not telling us what that news chopper was... that it was NBC4.” I did hear Fox 5 has other footage of the helicopter crash. Still waiting to get ahold of that. Will have more updates in a few hours. Follow me for more news.

🚨 Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava has answered Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz in writing. Sunday night, hours after the Amazon 767 killed five people off the end of the runway, they fought on a hot mic over who speaks first at the outdoor press conference. Mayor’s chief of staff: She runs the airport, she goes first. Sheriff: “I know what you believe. This is public safety and I’m going first.” Sheriff’s letter: Don’t have the mayor’s staff direct me at a death scene in front of my deputies. That does not happen again. Mayor’s reply: This was an emergency-management event. She says the charter gives that authority to the mayor. She says nobody was ordered to boss the sheriff’s people. Five dead. The first public argument was over the order of speakers... Amazon Prime Air. 21 Air Flight 7598. Miami. All emotion. No common sense.

🚨 UPDATE: HERE IS EVERYTHING WE KNOW SO FAR ABOUT THE AMAZON PRIME AIR 767 THAT RAN OFF THE RUNWAY AT MIAMI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. The Boeing 767-300 cargo plane, operated by 21 Air for Amazon Prime Air, was flying Cargo South 7598 / N1997A from San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Miami. The aircraft overran Runway 30 during landing, crossed the airport perimeter and ended up near NW 67th Avenue/perimeter road. The aircraft appears to have come to rest right outside a Tesla charging/parking area near the airport. Massive plumes of black smoke were seen coming from the aircraft, and a fire was reported. All runways and taxiways were temporarily closed and a ground stop was issued at MIA. Video of the landing appears to show the Boeing 767 beginning to lean to one side before veering off the runway. WHAT CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO LEAN IS NOT YET KNOWN. A possible landing gear failure has been suggested, but that has NOT been confirmed. 🎧 AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL AUDIO FROM THE INCIDENT HAS ALSO EMERGED. UNCONFIRMED REPORTS ARE CURRENTLY CIRCULATING OF 6 FATALITIES, ALONG WITH INJURIES. THE DEATH TOLL HAS NOT BEEN OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED. This is still developing. FULL GROUND STOP IS STILL IN EFFECT. Prayers for all there. 🙏

🚨 #UPDATE: I KEEP SEEING PEOPLE SAYING THE HELICOPTER MAY HAVE RUN OUT OF FUEL. So I went back and grabbed the audio from the livestream myself. Reporter Eliana Moreno asked pilot George Marciniw about the status of the helicopter’s fuel about 40 minutes before the crash on Tuesday. You can CLEARLY hear Eliana ask about the fuel. Then she says: “Hour 10 from now.” That exchange happens at 32:57 in the livestream. The livestream ends at 1:12:24. Within just a few moments of the livestream ending, the helicopter goes down. I do NOT know what caused this crash, and neither does anyone else right now. I keep seeing people making assumptions about the fuel based on absolutely nothing. This post I saw had OVER 100K VIEWS with the comments turned off. 🤬 Wait for the NTSB to determine what actually happened.

🚨#UPDATE: FIREFIGHTERS HAVE FAILED TO SEAL THE CHEMICAL LEAK IN NORTH TOLEDO. Attempts to contain the release were unsuccessful. The tank has been compromised, and officials say the chemical inside is continuing to react. Rather than risk putting firefighters and hazmat crews in further danger, officials have determined that the safest course of action is to let the chemical reaction finish. The EPA is assisting with air monitoring and technical support as the situation continues. The danger has NOT passed. The 1-mile evacuation zone and 3-mile shelter-in-place order remain in effect. Venting the tank could take 6-24 hours. Residents must continue following emergency instructions and stay away from the site until authorities declare it safe. This is an ongoing hazardous-materials emergency, and officials have not yet confirmed exactly when the release will end.
