Here's the ATC audio clip of my final landing... ever. From humble beginnings in a DA40 to ~600 hours in a Vision Jet at 31,000 feet, I love to fly. Due to my growing personal and professional obligations, my final and best ADM decision as a PIC was to stop. This was my toughest landing. The skies were clear. The wind was straight down the runway. It's my home field I've landed at hundreds of times. But I knew it was my last. You can't hear it in the clip but my voice felt shaky. I'm doing my best to focus on a safe landing but I knew that was the last "cleared to land" readback I'd ever give. The landing was smooth. I see a lot of people sharing stories so... I think I might as well. The first SpaceX launch I watched live was Jason 3 on January 17 2016. The fifth landing attempt and the first one following the first successful RTLS a month before. We didn't get this video until the day after launch. Was anyone notified about this? 2. At what point exactly does this count as a "link click" in Ads Manager? When the full page takes over the whole screen? 3. How is this impacting external tracking? This will surely track more visits and bounces... 4. Is this a new trick for Meta to gobble more externally measured attribution credit? 5. What determines if your page gets shown here or doesn't? I'm still seeing ads that don't do this. Thoughts: A. Seems like landing pages with highly relevant and potent headlines and imagery will help win here. B. The brief that the founders brought to us was making the experience feel analog, but contemporary. Disruptive, but intentional. So we leaned into texture and the analog vibe. One of my favorite details: the contact form. Instead of a standard input field, we designed it to feel like an actual paper form with punched holes on the left, visible grain, and the weight of something real. Small detail.
