Rio de Janeiro just became the first city in... the world to start reforesting itself with AI drones and the more i read about how it works the cooler it gets: the reason a city would even need this is that dead land is brutally hard to bring back when cattle farming or mining wrecks a piece of land, the soil turns hard and dry and basically dies. left alone it can stay like that for decades the only fix used to be huge crews planting seedlings by hand. one person covers about a hectare a day. at that pace a real forest takes years and a fortune, so most wrecked land just stays dead the company Rio hired is called MORFO. their answer is one drone plus an AI model doing the work of that entire crew it starts with the drone scanning the whole area from above from that scan, the AI studies the soil, the water, the slope, the plants already growing nearby it uses all of that to pick which native species have the best shot at surviving in each exact spot, choosing from a catalog of 300+ local plants once it knows what goes where, the drone flies back over and fires biodegradable seed pods into the ground, 180 every minute each pod holds seeds, nutrients, moisture. a little starter kit for surviving in dead soil flying like that, one drone covers up to 50 hectares a day. the work of a 50-person planting crew and it actually works. they tested it on Brazilian pasture that years of cattle farming had killed. a few months after planting, that same land had grass, bushes, small trees growing again the system keeps learning after the drones leave too. satellites watch what actually grows back, so each new project starts smarter than the last my favorite detail: the AI even decides where NOT to plant it left 16% of one 8,420-hectare site untouched because it detected the forest there was already regrowing on its own easily one of the coolest AI applications i've seen this yearshow more

Massive performance improvement. This is a bit more of... technical post, but man do I love this stuff! Units navigate the map using a 'Navigation Mesh'. Before, I was using one giant nav mesh that spanned the entire map. The more objects that were placed (especially on a large map such as this 'RadarAttack' map designed by Syphotic | Steel Command), the larger the 'lag' would be after placement. You can see here that there is a massive frame drop and the navmesh doesnt update for almost 5 seconds. Now, there are a ton of tiny navmeshes that connect to one another, and together they cover the whole map. Now, when an object is placed, the navmesh will update instantly, because it no longer needs to parse through every object on the map (potentially thousands!!!). It only needs to parse through the objects that exist in the mini navmesh that the object was placed in (probably only 1-5 objects now!). Performance XP Boost +100! There is no lifting, no stopping, no starting over mid-word. The loop must close. The ascender must rise and return. The sentence must travel from one margin to the other as a single continuous gesture, and at the end of it the hand must still be steady. Twelve years of this. Every day. Ten thousand small acts of sustained, self-correcting attention, carried out below the level of conscious thought, until the motion belongs to the body and the body belongs to the motion. This is not penmanship. It is the slow construction of an interior form. This was one of the saddest things to see.... People following the Dom so hard they literally pulled over next trees, unable to see anything. The janky bird fart tornado ongoing at the time was barely visible in the open, let alone through trees. I know the recovery vehicle has a purpose to follow, but everyone else? Pathetic. At one point prior to this the funnel passed nearly overhead as I sat on the side of the road watching, then the circus pulled up and things got clustered...had that thing actually planted into something real....yikes. Shortly after that and seeing how bad it was becoming, I had to change my strategy to simply put miles between myself and it all...the chase became more enjoyable minus the terrain/roads we were plagued with all day. There's a point where trying to be closest to get your little extreme storm chaser points isn't worth the loss of sanity. I'll gladly take a step back to breathe. I've got nothing to proove by trying to be mr zero meter all the time. I enjoy it, but only in certain circumstances.show more

You don't understand... Higgsfield MCP + Claude just automated... AI film making. Every single step you used to grind through to make an AI movie, you can now do 10x faster. Drop the script into Claude Opus 4.8 and say: "Here's my script. Break it into a full shotlist. Shot number, scene, shot type, camera move and the action in each frame." Now the whole film is mapped, shot by shot. - Pull your assets. Ask Claude: "From this shotlist, list every character, every location and every prop across the whole film." That's your build list. The stuff you would need to generate and give as references in next steps. - Build the character sheets. Higgsfield MCP is connected, so Claude has hands now to do stuff directly. It generates the images itself. Have the full body, back view and close up in the character sheet. One per character. Each sheet becomes the locked reference for that face. Same move for locations, generate the empty plate for each one before anyone steps into it. - Generate the frames. Feed Claude the references plus the shot and have it write and fire the Seedance 2.0 prompt. "Using the lead's character sheet and the alley plate, generate shot 4 in Seedance 2.0. Low angle, slow push-in, rain." Claude builds the prompt, calls Seedance 2.0 and the frame lands back in chat. Use a Seedance 2.0 skill to teach Claude how to prompt it properly. Now, there are 3 ways to make the shots. Pick one per scene. - Pure prompting. Fastest one. You describe the action in words and let Seedance interpret it. For consistency across a sequence, feed it a frame from the previous shot so the look carries. - Storyboarding. You hand it a panel and it matches that composition exactly. Way more control over how the shot is framed. The tradeoff is that it can introduce more cuts than you actually want. - Path Control System This is the latest technique Seedance 2.0 technique. Generate a still base plate of the scene. Draw a red line across it to mark the exact path of the movement, then describe what's happening. Seedance follows that line for the action. Also ask Claude to remove the red line when animating. This is the one for anything where motion has to land precisely. The output reads like real live action. - Lastly, generate every clip you need, then cut them together. Get it to Capcut for editing and audio design. And that's it. This broke my mental model of game dev 💀... 2.5 hours → fully playable ‘Worms’ clone. Built with Hermes agent by Nous Research Here’s what made that speed possible: Hermes used ‘Persistent Shell’ mode, which ensured it didn't forget its current folder or active tools. This allowed it to work smoothly, without the distraction of constantly having to recall where it left off last time. To optimize the workflow, the agent moved beyond linear execution and parallelized the workload. It spawned isolated subagents while executing multiple independent tool calls via ThreadPoolExecutor. Like, one subagent wrote Python RPC scripts for the projectile physics while another utilized vision tools for character sprites. When the complex terrain logic required debugging, the agent used filesystem checkpoints and the /rollback command to instantly return to a stable state. To fix UI bugs, it attached to a live Chrome instance via CDP (/browser connect), fixing rendering issues in real-time. The agent’s built-in learning loop was active from the very beginning. By the time the game was finished, this continuous process allowed the agent to autonomously convert the physics logic into a custom skill. This logic is now a permanent plugin file in the agent's plugin architecture, making the physics engine a native capability that the agent can reuse for future projects.
