Dan Robinson of Paradigm published the proposal for a system that lets holders of old Bitcoin wallets prove ownership without moving their coins first. The plan lets Bitcoin holders privately timestamp cryptographic proofs of key ownership today. Later, they can use quantum-resistant STARK proofs to unlock their coins if the network freezes vulnerable addresses. The proposal is designed to protect dormant wallets, including Satoshi Nakamoto's holdings. Owners would not need to move funds publicly in the meantime.
