Consequently, spring football practice was suspended and many of our promising student-athletes left, and many of the ballers that we were attempting to recruit, shunned our efforts. Fast forward to the third week of football in September. The Buffaloes are 2-1 with their only loss coming from FCS Houston Christian, in which they were very competitive for a half. I had no expectations for Coach Richard Wilson and his staff this season. After enduring so many challenges, just fielding a team for the 2025 football season would be considered victorious for the program. But these young men have tasted winning, and now they want more.
