Gaussian splatting is so good at capturing context. For... me, it has changed my approach to volumetric photography. For me with photogrammetry, it was very much either object-based, space based, or facade-based, always with the subject’s bounds being very clearly defined during capture But with splats, I can think more frustum-based, composing a scene with a foreground, background, and subject, and shooting it.
