Appollo was 9 years old when he and his... handler reached Ground Zero on September 11, 2001. He worked through smoke, rubble, fire, and dangerous conditions searching for those who needed to be found. His coat was singed and his paws became bruised and cracked, but Appollo kept wanting to work. He refused to simply give up and walk away from the job he had been trained to do. Eventually, his handler, NYPD Officer Peter Davis, had to make the decision to stop him and give his exhausted body the rest that Appollo himself wasn't willing to take. That was the heart of a working dog. Loyalty. Courage. Determination. And an incredible drive to keep going when others needed him. Appollo later received the PDSA Dickin Medal, representing the search and rescue dogs who served at Ground Zero and the Pentagon. He passed away in November 2006 at the age of 14, but the courage he showed on September 11 will never be forgotten. Some heroes wear a uniform. Some wear a collar. Appollo was one of them. Never Forgotten. ❤️🐾show more

🇺🇸Remembering Nathan Hardy🇺🇸 Like so many young men with... a sense of purpose, he chose a life of service enlisting in the U.S. Navy at just 17. What followed was years of relentless training, discipline, and sacrifice. From Great Lakes to Coronado, from airborne school to SEAL qualification, he pushed himself beyond limits most will never understand. He became one of the few … an elite Navy SEAL. Nathan served with SEAL Team EIGHT, deployed overseas, learned Arabic, and returned again and again to serve wherever he was needed. His life was defined not by comfort, but by commitment, to his country, to his teammates, and to something bigger than himself. In July 2007, he joined the Naval Special Warfare Development Group. On February 4, 2008, in Iraq, Nathan Hardy was killed in action. He was 29 years old. He was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. Behind the dates and assignments is a life of courage, sacrifice, and quiet heroism. A son. A teammate. A man who gave everything. And because of that… he will never be forgotten.🙏show more

He lay there cold, alone, and barely able to... move. 💔 His body was weak, his stomach empty, and every breath was a struggle. His overgrown nails and wounds showed how long he had been neglected. He was abandoned and forgotten, left to survive on his own. But we found him. ❤️ Now he needs our help. Please donate, share, and help us give him the care and second chance he deserves. 🐾show more

❤️ THE STRANGER WHO REMEMBERED HIM 🐾 Daniel Mercer,... 44, was still grieving the loss of his father when he visited a North Carolina animal shelter. His father had always loved dogs, so Daniel decided to donate some of his dad’s old belongings to the shelter in his memory. Among those belongings was an old jacket. While Daniel was there, he noticed an elderly German Shepherd named Milo. The dog had no microchip and no identification tags, only an old collar with initials that matched Daniel’s father’s. Then something unexpected happened. Daniel put on his father’s old jacket, and Milo immediately reacted. The dog stared at him, approached cautiously, and seemed strangely familiar with the scent. Daniel suddenly remembered something from his childhood. Years earlier, his father had owned a German Shepherd named Milo. During a terrible storm, the dog disappeared when he was only three years old. Eight years had passed, and Daniel’s father never brought another dog home. He had always carried the guilt of believing he had failed to protect Milo. Could this elderly dog really be the same one? Daniel couldn't be certain, but the connection felt too powerful to ignore. He called his wife and told her everything. A week later, they returned to the shelter. This time, Daniel wasn't bringing a donation. He was bringing Milo home. After eight long years, Daniel believed his father’s beloved dog had finally found his way back to the family. ❤️🐶show more

The vet had been honest with the Hollands. Baxter... didn't have much time left, and the kindest thing they could do now was make whatever he had left count. So on a warm Saturday in June , instead of a normal quiet day at home, they loaded the old Bernese into the back of the van and drove him two hours to the coast. Baxter had never seen the ocean. He was 13, and his whole life had been the backyard and the same worn spot on the living room rug. The kids wanted him to see something big before he went. He moved slow getting out of the van. His back legs weren't what they used to be, and the boys had to help him down onto the sand. For a second he just stood there at the top of the beach, nose up, taking in all that salt air and open water like he couldn't quite believe it. Then something in him shifted. He started down toward the surf on his own, stiff and determined, the way he used to trot to the door when the kids came home from school. When the first cold wave washed over his paws, his whole face lit up. He didn't run, he couldn't, but he waded in up to his chest and stood in the shallow water with the sun going down behind him, and the whole family just watched. Nobody said much. They didn't need to. They stayed until the light was almost gone, taking pictures, letting Baxter rest against their legs, giving him one perfect afternoon to hold onto. The vet was right about the time. Baxter left them a few weeks later, at home, surrounded by the people who loved him. But he saw the ocean first. And every one of them is glad they gave him that.show more

The ground shook on Iwo Jima in 1945. Smoke... choked the air. Marines were pinned down, nowhere to run. And in that frozen second, a 17-year-old made a decision no one should ever have to make. Jacklyn Lucas was just a teenager. He had lied about his age to join the fight. Too young for war. Too young for what was coming. But there he was, on a battlefield that did not care how old you were. Then it happened. Two enemy grenades landed near his fellow Marines. No time to think. No time to hesitate. Lucas moved. He threw himself directly onto both grenades, pressing them into the sand with his body. He knew what it meant. He knew what would happen next. The explosions hit. Sand, metal, and shock tore through him. His body absorbed the blast meant for everyone else. Around him, Marines who should have been gone were still breathing. He had taken it all. By some miracle, he survived. But survival came at a cost. His body was shattered. Dozens of wounds. Long months of recovery. Pain that never truly left. At 17, he had already given more than most people ever will. He received the Medal of Honor. One of the youngest ever. But medals do not follow you home at night. The war stayed with him. The memories. The weight of that moment. The knowledge of what he did and what it took from him. He lived a long life after that day. But the world moved on. The story faded. The boy who jumped on 2 grenades so others could live slowly became just another forgotten name in history. 17 years old. One decision. A lifetime of scars. And today, almost nobody remembers. 🙏show more

🙏🇺🇸🙏 U.S. Air Force Captain Seth R. Koval —... one of six Airmen who lost their lives while supporting Operation Epic Fury. For those who knew Seth, he was far more than a pilot or an officer in uniform. He was a husband, a father, a son, a brother, and a friend whose presence filled the lives of the people around him with love and strength. Seth grew up dreaming of becoming a pilot. That dream eventually became a life of service, one he carried with pride every time he put on his uniform. Those close to him say he loved what he did and felt honored to serve others through his work in the Air Force. But the people who knew him best remember something even greater than his career. They remember a man who was loving, generous, and kind-hearted. A man who always looked for ways to help others. Someone who could fix almost anything, who loved the outdoors, and who never hesitated to put the needs of others before his own. Above all, Seth was a devoted family man. His wife shared the heartbreak their family is now facing, describing the unimaginable pain of losing the person she loved most. In her words, Seth was not only an exceptional Airman, but the most incredible husband, father, son, brother, and friend anyone could ask for. She shared that one of the greatest honors of her life was standing beside him as he achieved the dream he had carried since childhood — becoming a pilot and serving his country. Though his life was cut far too short, Seth's legacy continues to live on through the family he loved deeply, especially in the smile of his young son who will carry a part of his father's spirit forward. For the Koval family, the days ahead will not be easy. Yet they have expressed deep gratitude for the love and support that has surrounded them during this painful time. Across communities and within the Air Force family, many people are remembering Captain Seth R. Koval not only for the uniform he wore, but for the life he lived - a life marked by service, faith, and love for others. Today we pause to honor him and to keep his family, friends, and fellow Airmen in our thoughts. - May Capt. Seth R. Koval rest in peace, and may his service and legacy never be forgotten 🙏🇺🇸🙏show more

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐠 𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 ❤️🐾 At the... back of a highway service station, an elderly golden retriever lay beside an old wooden post. Near him were a bowl of water, a little food, and a worn blue-and-red blanket. He looked tired, his muzzle white with age, and his legs weak with arthritis. Yet there was no fear in his eyes—only patience. When a worker approached, the dog gently wagged his tail once, as if saying, “I’m still waiting. He’ll come back.” The worker had been there for seventeen years, but he had never seen such quiet heartbreak. Later that morning, he returned and decided the dog needed help. At the veterinary clinic, they discovered an old microchip, but the number was disconnected and the registered address had been abandoned years earlier. Still, the dog kept staring toward the door. The worker couldn't bear the thought of sending him to a shelter, so he took him home. That first night, the old retriever stayed in the hallway, watching the entrance as though he knew someone was coming. The next day, the mystery was finally solved. A family misunderstanding had led to the dog being left at the service station. His elderly owner was in a care facility several hours away and had been devastated, believing his beloved companion was gone forever. The worker immediately drove the dog to the facility. Throughout the journey, the retriever sat quietly, watching the road. When they arrived, something remarkable happened. Despite his age and aching legs, the dog seemed to know exactly where he needed to go. He led the worker through the corridors until they reached a room where an elderly man sat silently in a wheelchair. The dog walked straight to him and placed his head gently on his master's knees. The man's trembling hands touched the familiar fur. Then their eyes met. The sadness on his face disappeared, replaced by tears and a smile. “You came…” he whispered. Today, the old retriever is allowed to stay at the care center with his beloved owner. And when he isn't beside him, he walks through the halls, resting his head on the knees of other lonely residents. He spent his life waiting for the right door to open. And when it finally did, he didn't just find his family again—he became comfort for many others. ❤️🐾 DE GOLDSMITH🪙🪙🪙⭐ ⭐⭐ Mediashow more

Today, we gather to honor the memory of Peter... Lynch. Peter Lynch, 61, was a devoted husband of 36 years, a father to four adult children, and a loving grandfather to three. He was a man who stood for his convictions and believed in the right to question and discuss societal issues openly and respectfully. Tragically, Peter became a target for simply exercising his right to free speech—holding a placard and sharing his perspectives on multiculturalism. Despite his peaceful actions, he was unjustly branded a racist and subjected to a severe punishment that he did not deserve. Peter’s passing is a profound loss, and we must confront the injustice that led to it. Leadership must be held accountable, and today, the responsibility for this tragedy weighs heavily on Keir Starmer and his policies. May Peter Lynch rest in peace. His courage and voice will not be forgotten.show more

Thomas wasn’t looking to adopt. He wasn’t even searching... for a dog. He was only stopping by Riverside Animal Shelter to drop off donated supplies before heading home. But then he met Hank. Hank was a three-year-old mixed breed who had spent seven months waiting for someone to choose him. Many people had walked past him, and every time someone left, his heart broke a little more. Thomas sat with him for just a few minutes. He scratched his ears, gave him some love, and then stood up to leave. That’s when Hank reached out and grabbed his sleeve. He wasn’t trying to stop him with force. He was just scared of losing another person. His paws held onto Thomas’s arm as he quietly shook, begging without making a sound. Thomas stopped. He looked down at Hank… then sat back on the floor. The moment he did, Hank climbed into his lap, relaxed, and pressed his face into his shoulder. That was the moment Thomas knew. He called his landlord, arranged everything, and before the shelter closed that day, Hank finally had a home. Sometimes we don’t choose the dog… sometimes the dog finds us.show more

You can't put into words what Paul Mullin means... to Wrexham. For all his heroics on the pitch, he transcended it through his connection with the fans and the community. He gave his all for the club and delivered when it mattered the most, time and time again. The type of goalscorer a generation was told about but had never seen themselves. The man who turned us all into believers and made those dreams come true. A victim of his own success, he propelled us up the leagues so quickly that we didn't get to enjoy him long enough. To do what he did while missing two pre-seasons is absurd. Most of all, he is a great person. Someone who always puts his family first and stands up for what he believes in. A working-class lad from Litherland, who became a global star. A true Wrexham legend and one of the very best to ever wear the shirt 👑 #WxmAFCshow more

They found him where the fighting had been the... worst. Alone. Rifle empty. Magazines spent. And 23 enemy soldiers lying around his position. Private First Class Gary Martini was just 19 years old in April 1967 when his unit was ambushed in Vietnam. The jungle erupted with gunfire. Grenades exp|*ded. The line began to buckle under heavy attack. Martini did not pull back. He stayed where he was and returned fire. Wave after wave came at his position. He fired until his magazines were empty. Then he reloaded. Then fired again. The enemy tried to break through his sector. He would not let them. Somewhere in that storm of bullets and smoke, he was fatally w*unded. When the battle ended and his fellow soldiers moved through the wreckage, they found him still at his post. Around him lay 23 enemy bodies. He had held the line almost single handedly. He was 19. Nineteen. Most teenagers worry about school, about the future, about small things. Gary Martini faced d**th and refused to give ground. His stand bought time for his unit. Time to regroup. Time to survive. For his actions, he was awarded the Medal of Honor. looked like. A young soldier, alone in a jungle clearing, fighting until there was nothing left to fire. He did not run. He did not surrender. He fought until the end. Back home, his name faded with the years. The war became a chapter in a textbook. The faces became numbers. But once, in a violent clearing in Vietnam, a 19 year old stood his ground against overwhelming odds. 🫡🙏show more
