The images and video below are from the northeastern portion of the fire near the Sequoia Ave area in Simi Valley. #PickettFire UPDATE: Thanks to the hard work being put... in by firefighters, we now have 5% containment on this fire. Another flight from Intel 12 has been ordered to map the fire and provide updated acreage, which will be forthcoming. A priority Friday has been the dozer work on the right flank, an area that's seen active fire. The 15 assigned dozers are greatly aiding in establishing control lines and providing access. They are being supported by aerial firefighting operations to tie in the control lines from Rattlesnake Ridge wrapping around to Sugarloaf Mountain to protect communities that lie further to the east.show more

The Library Fire in the area of the Reagan... Library in Simi Valley has been mapped at 8.6 acres. The road to leading to the Reagan Library has now been re-opened. The fire was initially reported at 1:38pm, and approximately 70 firefighters were dispatched to the incident. Multiple units have been now been released from the fire, but some firefighters will be remaining on scene for the next few hours mopping up hot spots and reinforcing control lines. VCFD’s UAS (drone) operators are on scene and surveying the fire footprint from the air to ensure all hotspots are identified and fully extinguished by ground crews. There were no injuries reported, no structures damaged or threatened and no evacuation orders issued. The cause of the fire is under investigation.show more

Colorado: After days of Red Flag warnings and strong... winds, the recent cooler weather gave firefighters the chance to complete 13% containment on the 87,000 acre Aspen Acres Fire in Colorado. The portion of contained line is on the eastern flank of the fire. 800 personnel are now on scene conducting direct line construction, building dozer line, and engaged in structure protection. 🚨🇺🇸 BRIGHTLINE TRAIN COLLIDES WITH FIRE TRUCK IN FLORIDA:... 15 INJURED A Brightline train struck a Delray Beach fire truck Saturday morning, injuring 12 passengers and 3 firefighters. All injured parties were transported to local hospitals, with firefighters reported in stable condition. The collision occurred around 10:45 a.m., halting traffic on East Atlantic Avenue, which has since reopened. SE 1st Street remains closed as cleanup and investigations continue. #mountainfire update; as of 10:30 pm the fire is... currently at 14,187 acres, with at least 800 firefighters currently assigned to the incident. Firefighting operations continue through the night with both ground resources and night flying helicopters. Hundreds of mutual aid firefighters continue to arrive on scene from throughout California. Numerous structures have been impacted by this fast-moving fire. Due to safety concerns, damage estimates will begin tomorrow.
