Shibarium runs on BONE, but the staking that secures... it lives on Ethereum ethereum:0x9813037ee2218799597d83d4a5b6f3b6778218d9 pays gas on Shibarium, yet the staking that secures the chain does not happen on Shibarium at all. Validators and delegators lock BONE in contracts sitting on Ethereum mainnet, per Shib's documentation. The design is modeled on Polygon's proof-of-stake architecture. A validator layer called Heimdall bundles periodic snapshots of Shibarium's state, called checkpoints, and submits them to Ethereum. A separate layer, Bor, produces the blocks and executes transactions, with block producers drawn from the validator set. Anchoring stake and checkpoints to Ethereum ties Shibarium's record to the larger network's security.show more

🚨 BREAKING: ETHEREUM TARGETS ZK-BASED L1 VALIDATION BY 2026... Ethereum Foundation member ladislaus.eth says Ethereum $ETH will shift block validation toward zero-knowledge proofs. The move replaces full transaction re-execution with cryptographic proof verification. Validators would rely on cryptographic proofs rather than replaying transactions. The change is outlined under the L1-zkEVM 2026 roadmap. Ethereum’s first L1-zkEVM workshop is set for Feb. 11, 2026.show more

🚨ETHEREUM EIP-8222 “LEAN STAKING” PROPOSAL COULD BOOST INSTITUTIONAL PRIVACY... BUT RAISES COSTS! EIP-8222 introduces a native privacy layer for Ethereum staking by decoupling execution-layer deposit addresses from consensus-layer validator keys using zkSNARKs and pending deposit trees. This would make validator activity significantly harder to trace on-chain, addressing a major concern for institutions worried about de-anonymization risks. Sygnum warns the added complexity could increase operational costs and create new compliance burdens for institutional stakers.show more
