Ben Jones, Dukes of Hazzard star and former Congressman,... dies at 84 Ben Jones, best known as the lovable mechanic Cooter Davenport on The Dukes of Hazzard, passed away Sunday at the age of 84. His wife, Alma Viator, shared the news: “I lost the love of my life today. Ben passed from a massive heart attack… He was home resting in his favorite chair waiting for the Braves to come on and whoop the Yankees. Ben had the most amazing rich full life. He loved and was loved by so many.” Jones played Cooter across all seven seasons of the classic series (1979–1985) and later served two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Georgia. MAKING AXIS TASKS FEEL EASY 👀🤖 I made a... quick video showing how to complete an Axis Robotics task step by step. The task gives you a clear goal, steps, controls and camera views to guide you. In this one, the goal is simple, Open the trash bin, pick up the onion, and place it inside. 🧅 Just follow the instructions, control the robot arm and complete the task. What I like is that even beginners can understand what they need to do. But the interesting part is what happens with these interactions after we complete them. Each completed task can contribute valuable robot training data, helping Physical Ai systems learn how to handle different objects and environments. Small tasks from the community can become useful data for teaching robots how to interact with the real world. That’s what makes Axis interesting to me.show more

This was filmed last Monday morning at Veterinary Clinic... in Richmond, Virginia. The officer is Sergeant Paul Greer. He's 44 years old with the Richmond Police Department. The dog is a nine-year-old German Shepherd named Kodak. Paul's K9 partner for eight years. Paul and Kodak were paired when Kodak was fourteen months old. They went through sixteen weeks of handler training together in Chesterfield County. They worked patrol, search operations, and community events together for eight consecutive years. Paul estimates they logged more than eleven thousand hours on duty together. Kodak retired from active service fourteen months ago when his health began declining. He went home with Paul, as K9 partners typically do when they retire. Paul converted the back bedroom into a dog room. Kodak slept on a memory foam bed beside Paul's side of the bed. Over the past several months, Kodak's condition worsened gradually. His mobility declined. His appetite became inconsistent. Paul's veterinarian, Dr. Sarah Malone, had been monitoring Kodak carefully through regular visits and was honest with Paul each time about what she was seeing. Last Sunday evening, Paul sat with Kodak on the back porch for a long time. He called Dr. Malone afterward. The appointment was Monday morning at nine. Paul wore his uniform. He told his wife he wasn't sure why, exactly. It just felt right. Like Kodak had always known him in it. Dr. Malone and her technician gave Paul as much time as he needed. The “Galileo test” is basically asking whether a system can resist that pressure and still land on the correct model of reality, the way Galileo Galilei overturned a dominant consensus with observation and predictive power. In engineering terms, it’s a robustness problem: can the model separate signal (ground truth constraints) from mass-produced narrative (high-frequency repetition)? I’m not surprised to see that Elliot Page just... falsely blamed a dry spell on being transgender. The truth is that Hollywood is brutal. Most people who get a gig never work again. A supporting part in a hit is not a promise of anything. The Odyssey made well over a billion dollars. Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Christopher Nolan put people in the seats. Page played Sinon, a role that is not even in Homer. Treating that credit like a guarantee of more work is a distorted view of how the business works. Page said it is “a little tricky to get cast now, for obvious reasons,” and that the industry still needs to adapt. Page is the one making identity the focus. Studios hire faces that sell tickets. They do not owe anyone a career because of a personal identity. Plenty of actors never get near a movie the size of The Odyssey no matter how hard they work. The ones who last treat the work as the priority and keep their private life off the press tour. Gratitude is what Page is really missing. The solution is simple. Stop making identity the pitch. Self organisation is for LAZY coaches! Elite coaches should... verbalise all of the nuances of detail to maximise the performance of their athletes. Video analysis should provide you with all of the granular data so that you can make minute analysis and provide the most specific cues for each step in the sprint. 🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥 At the end of last the summer I reached to Frans Bosch to bug him on all things sprinting. It’s been 3/4 years since we had spoken last so it was very refreshing to talk about what I had been witnessing whilst analysing footballers. Somethings that I learnt from him over a decade ago and have consistently used to maximise speed skills. 1) “take the arms out of the running cycle and the body will need to self organise in order to avoid over rotation and thus keep the abdominals in the sweet spot” 2) “Run bouncy with excellent co contractions between hip, knee and ankle will keep the hamstring in the sweet spot, reducing strain” 3) “Stabilise running technique by clarifying how to PROJECT , SWITCH AND REACT (PSR) over increasing amounts of velocity, vectors and variations of instability” 🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬 I took the concept of PSR directly from the heuristics of dpfaff 15 years ago. A man who gives and gives and gives and gives some more. Dan let me bug him for months, write my thesis on him, then I got to stalk him daily for 3 years in the build up to the 2012 Olympics. Coaching the PSR pillers became a very helpful way of reducing the clutter of technical jargon and degrees of freedom.
