Stop reversing in 2026. I still see so many... lower-ranked players reverse or fully brake when they feel awkward, which only puts them in worse positions. If you put yourself out of position, the best option is usually to drive through the play and rotate around. Rotating through gives you better vision of the field, helps you keep your momentum, and leaves you in a much better position. Here is an example of two players making this exact mistake and giving away easy goals.show more

I believe genji got some hidden QoL changes this... season? #1 if your shuriken kills an enemy mid dash your dash will reset now. Previously your dash would go on cooldown leaving you in a position with no dash when executing the shuriken + dash combo #2 genji dash no longer carries momentum. theres many moments with genji where if you have any sort of momentum either falling / jumping and you decided to dash, you will carry that momentum with your dash which ends up fucking you over many times but now it seems like his dash is like DPS dooms indicator slam where your dash stops your momentum and you dash exactly where your crosshair isshow more

The... only real exception is when you're using your lead hand to throw a shot directly in front of you at close range—like when your opponent is trapped on the ropes or tied up in a clinch and can’t retreat. The "how" of stepping is beyond the scope of this caption, but the "why" isn't. You step to generate momentum for your punch and to stay balanced whether you land the shot or miss. Steps also let you adjust to the flow of the fight. Your opponent won’t stand still—you have to punch while moving. But it’s important these are small, controlled steps. Large steps break your stance, compromise your balance, and leave you vulnerable. Plus, when you take large steps, your feet spend more time off the ground, which reduces your ability to transfer force through your legs and hips into the punch. From a physics perspective, small steps help you apply force efficiently. Remember: force equals the change in momentum divided by the time over which that change happens (that’s the impulse-momentum relationship: F = Δp / Δt). The faster you can apply that force (meaning the smaller the Δt), the greater the force you generate. Even fractions of a second matter—double the time it takes to apply your punch’s momentum, and you cut the force dramatically. Enjoy this journey while you can. There will be... a day when you don’t have anyone to throw with or lift with or play pickup racquetball and then hit the sauna after with. There will be a day when you can’t immediately roll from your workout into breakfast/lunch/dinner with 8 of your best friends. There will be a day when disputes cannot be settled with a game of madden, 2K or the show. You will realize that showing up late for work pales in comparison to the fear you had about showing up late to the field or the weight room. You can say that you’ll still train hard, keep yourself in shape, hold YOURSELF accountable. It’s easy to say when you have a goal you’re working towards with a collective group. But when you don’t have that, damn it gets hard. So enjoy it. Take advantage of the time and the energy. For some guys it happens after 6 years of pro ball.
