I didn’t have high expectations for this season, but... I NEVER thought it would be this bad. Memphis just lost to Tulane (previously on a 5-game losing streak) at home. They are now 10-11. 5-4 in AAC play. Not to mention, the attendance is so bad that they’re moving everybody down to the lower bowl + giving out free tickets in the lower bowl to season ticket holders. There needs to be change this offseason.show more

🚨🗣️ Julián Álvarez on the late Arsenal move: 🗣️... Reporter: “Julián, what really happened with Arsenal on deadline day? Was there an attempt to make the move happen?” 🇦🇷 Julián Álvarez: “Yes, my agent tried to make a deal with Arsenal right until the last moment. We explored the possibility because we have a very good relationship with the club, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out before the deadline. I want to make it clear that I never rejected Arsenal. There was genuine interest and we were trying to find a solution, but sometimes these things depend on many factors and there simply wasn’t enough time to complete everything. I have a lot of respect for Arsenal. I like their project, the manager and the way they are building the team. My representatives know that I’m open to the possibility of joining them. I believe Arsenal could come back for me in January. If they do, I will listen and I would be open to the move. The relationship is good, there is respect on both sides, and I don’t think this chapter is closed. For now, I remain focused on Atlético Madrid, but football can change quickly. If Arsenal return in January with the right proposal, I would be ready to consider becoming a Gunner. The important thing is that people understand — I did not reject Arsenal. We tried until the last minute, but the deal simply couldn’t be completed.”show more

🚨🔴⚪️ Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone on Julián Álvarez... and Arsenal links after his clash with fans: 🗣️ “Julián is a fantastic and important player for this team. Nobody doubts his quality or what he has given Atlético. But football is sometimes about more than the pitch. When emotions affect the relationship between a player, supporters and the club, you have to discuss what is best for everyone.” “I have spoken with Julián, and the club has too. We cannot ignore the situation. Atlético will always defend the club and the team. If the right solution arrives and the club believes it is time for a player to move on, we must be open minded.” “There have been discussions and interest from different clubs. From what I understand, Arsenal are currently working seriously on a possible deal. Barcelona have been mentioned, but we are not in discussions with them.” “Arsenal are a big club with an excellent coach and strong project. It is understandable that a player of Julián’s quality attracts their interest. Until something is agreed, he remains an Atlético Madrid player.” “If he stays, I expect him to give everything for this shirt. If he leaves, the club will seek the best agreement. There is no war or drama from my side — only a situation to resolve for Atlético Madrid and the player.” 🇦🇷👀show more

🚨 UNACCEPTABLE SCENES IN PORTUGUESE FOOTBALL 😡 Clear and... shocking footage shows FC Porto’s Alberto Costa spitting on Famalicão’s Sorriso while the opponent was on the ground after a foul in the 86th minute. A clear act of complete indiscipline and total lack of sportsmanship. This is NOT football. This shames the game. The Primeira Liga needs to wake up urgently. This season has been marked by controversy after controversy, impunity and chaos both on and off the pitch. The Disciplinary Council can no longer look the other way. Exemplary punishment must be handed out immediately — exactly as it would be for any other player. Enough with the “grey areas”. Fair play and respect for the opponent have to become the rule again. ⚽show more

🚨 HE CHARGED POLICE WITH A MACHETE AFTER ATTACKING... AN AMBULANCE A man got into a road rage incident with a Long Beach Fire Department ambulance that was actively transporting a patient. When officers tried to stop him, he fled on foot armed with a machete. Police used less-lethal options and tried to talk him down. He answered by running directly at them with the machete. He was shot and remains in critical condition. This wasn’t a mental health moment. This was a grown man choosing violence over and over first against an ambulance, then against the police. I don’t care what his problems were. When you run at cops with a machete after already endangering a patient, you’re not a victim. You’re a threat. MR. IG🐻Prescription Play #2🏀 Ja Morant o11.5 Reb+Ast (+100)... #GrindCity vs #LakeShow Film. Data. Narratives. What a great play. Show love if you want another play❤️ Lets start with the data because this man is averaging 16.8 Potential Assists across his last 9 games with 25+ minutes. We have also hammered the idea of the Lakers being a horrendous transition defense this season, and we know Ja Morant is at his most fun when he gets out in transition. Expect some easy assists on those plays here. Now as far as the Lakers, they don't hide their strategy of "you are either shooting or passing but you are not driving." While that last matchup was the one that started the drama with his comments about the coaches chewing him out mid-game, it did look like he was figuring out how to read it in the 2nd half. The Grizzlies would put Ja Morant on the wing in an ISO position, with everyone cleared out to the other side. The Lakers would have the big show EARLY help on the near side block. Ja Morant would then read the help of the big man and the weakside corner If the big and corner were helping early, he would drive and find the corner. If the big was helping and the corner wasn't, he would find the big on the opposite block. If the big AND the corner were waiting for him to drive before showing help, he would force the switch onto a lesser defender and put the Lakers into a position where they had to show help. And as far as the rebounding, Ja Morant's defensive role is simple: When there is a corner camper, matchup with the corner camper. With no Reaves, and not matching up on Luka/Lebron, we know this will be the case and should keep him in uncontested weakside rebounding position on any deep shot attempts. This is why he has had 11+ Rebound Chances in 3/4 against the Lakers.show more

The Pelicans started doing something that could help us... win A LOT of money... Dejounte Murray 6+ Assists (+115) Feel Free to Ladder after reading the reasoning below and the videos attached⤵️ Last game vs the Lakers, Dejounte Murray had 15 Potential Assists in 28 minutes, and they were all pretty good quality looks The big change they made to the offense is using ZION as the roll-man in the Pick and Roll. This 2-man game that has Dejounte as a willing and creative passer, sending chances to Zion who is one of the premier finishers in the paint in the NBA lead to 4 of his 8 assists alone. Today he gets to face a Suns defense that is missing one of their big bodies in Mark Williams and another one of their biggest enforcers in Dillon Brooks, while also being on the 2nd leg of a B2B. Dejounte just returned from a lengthy recovery of an Achilles Tear 4 games ago but had 13 months of recovery. This is on the longer end of recovery time (at least in modern medicine) and has ramped up to 28 minutes last game. Anything above 25 and we should cash out here! If you made it this far.... I hope you are tailing! Make sure to show some love before you leaveshow more

🚨🗣️ BREAKING: Jamie Carragher on Liverpool’s Transfer Plan: “Liverpool... have almost been like Real Madrid in the last two summers. They just go and buy the best player on the market for the most money. Barcola, Wirtz, Isak, all £100m players. And that gets everybody really excited. But Liverpool have always been about the team. Under Jürgen Klopp, we bought players who maybe weren’t superstars, but there was a plan. There was an idea about how it was all going to work together. There was a togetherness. Real Madrid always make it work, but Liverpool aren’t Real Madrid. We’ve gone down this road of buying star players, and I sit there scratching my head thinking, ‘How is this all going to work as a team?’ Liverpool won the league just over a year ago and we’ve spent an awful lot of money since then. Yet I don’t think Liverpool supporters really believe the new manager has the tools to win the league this season. That’s what doesn’t feel right to me. I don’t mind spending money. I want #LFC to get the best players possible. But I want to feel like there’s a plan.”show more

🚨🎙️Reporter: Wayne Rooney “What’s your reaction to Chelsea moving... for Danny Welbeck after spending heavily over the last five years?” 🗣️Rooney: “I honestly don’t understand it. Chelsea have spent billions over the last five years talking about building for the future, and now they’re signing a 35-year-old striker from Brighton? It just doesn’t add up to me.” “I believed Xabi Alonso was the man who could completely change Chelsea’s direction after last season. But if these are the type of signings the club is making, I’m starting to question that belief. Experience is important, but this move feels more like panic than planning.” “Chelsea should be building a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League and the Champions League. If this is the level of ambition in the transfer market, I genuinely worry they could miss out on European football again next season.” “Maybe I’ll be proven wrong, but from where I’m sitting, this transfer makes absolutely no sense.”show more

Officially moving on from Tech game after I get... this thought off my chest. I more than welcome anyone smarter than me in regards to the football to chime in. I truly, truly, truly cannot wrap my head around the thought process here. These two plays I'm sure anyone with brain can agree officially sealed KU's slim chances in having a chance to win this game. The play calling to me seems like completely flipped in logic at best? First one, you are down 4, on your own 30 so you are not going to go for this. Ignoring that we were getting dominated in the trenches in this game and that the 'obvious' play is a run, I don't get why we make the decision in a must get spot to take the ball out of our QB's (who at the time was rolling) hands. Jalon Daniels is our best player. In an absolute must get/need, we should be relying on him to make a play. Then the second one. I obviously don't know the answer here, but I feel somewhat confident that the reason we didn't run here was because of how the earlier 3rd & 1 run went. While I don't necessarily agree with the premise of decision making on this alone, I can appreciate the recognition that we are going to struggle to gain a yard in an obvious run situation. But the thing is, we are in go for it range so the one thing you absolutely cannot have is a massive negative play. Literally anything else is okay (obviously not a turnover). I truly don't think there's a good chance we run the ball on this attempt and get a yard. But THIS situation gives you a free shot at it if you want to take it. I think this play call would have worked if we didn't let their best player run at our qb freely but I'd just argue this play had a ton of potential risk that wasn't necessary. Hell even a play action pass out of out shot gun or something rolling JD out to the left would have given us a good shot at first down with an escape route to bail out on the play if something went wrong. I'm once again for the millionth time saying I know and understand that this entire staff knows more about football in their pinky than I do. But I do think the game has evolved and game + clock management doesn't really require football knowledge/have a direct correlation to one's football knowledge. It's not as simple as ESPN's graphic says GO so you should go etc, there are variables and human behavior etc to deal with and I understand that. But we are just getting these situations downright wrong. We are flipping a coin that has a 20 pound weight attached to the heads side and calling tails almost every single time. S/O anyone who read all this but would just love some insight if there's anyone who disagrees and is a lot smarter than I!show more
