All things in life are earned, especially freedom. Like... most people in this country, I love the freedom to spend time with loved ones, to barbecue a burger, to work on my emotional and spiritual health, and to GTFOutside. The freedom to do those things doesn’t guarantee those things though - that’s where the earning comes in. Life has taught me the power of working towards what I want, sacrificing for a better future and keeping the right people close. Are we truly free if we don’t have those things? Today, as our country celebrates its independence, I also celebrate the ability to earn my freedom through work and dedication to a better life than the one I had yesterday. BRITAIN’S MOST SHAMBOLIC PRISON Fried chicken is just the latest scandal for the chaos-ridden HMP Wandsworth, where inmates were caught on TikTok munching on smuggled Chicken Cottage meals - all from inside their cells. The prison, already infamous for jailbreaks, mistaken releases, staff-inmate sex scandals, and a catastrophic inspection, is now under fire yet again. One inmate bragged about his wings and burger before panning the camera to his cell door. The video has since been deleted, but the embarrassment lingers. Prison bosses have launched an investigation, suspecting bribed guards or drone drops. Officials say prisoners have paid hundreds for fast food that costs a fiver outside. In a jail where vermin roam, drugs flow, and violence runs high, criminals are dining like kings while staff absence hits 50% and security is “a joke.” Phones, drugs, weapons, and now takeout - Wandsworth isn’t a prison, it’s a badly run hotel with locks. The storm hyped as one of Louisville’s biggest ever... will end up being only the second largest snowstorm we’ve had…in the past year As of this morning, even with the storm not over, updated projections indicate that this storm won’t top the 9 inches we got in January of 2025. Snow, sleet, soda etc. Whatever it was, it didn’t pile up. Roads are still terrible and the freezing temps are gonna make this linger for a while. Far from a nothing burger, but once again it was wildly overestimated. “Well, it all depends on the sleet line.” If we got a foot of snow? “Told you so.” If we didn’t? “Like I’ve been saying all week… it was all dependent on the sleet line.” It’s the perfect way to never technically be wrong. With that said, I don’t think most meteorologists are out here intentionally trying to dramatize forecasts or scare people. Like a lot of things, weather is just incredibly difficult to predict. But for some reason, in that industry, it feels like simply admitting “only time will tell” or “it’s too tough to tell” isn’t allowed.show more

It would have been amusing if it weren’t so... ironic. The man demanding the resignation of India’s Education Minister refuses to resign himself. It increasingly appears that the so-called protest march was deliberately left without leadership or direction, creating conditions in which anarchic elements could unleash violence and mayhem. When the situation spiralled out of control, many of the prominent faces associated with the protest were nowhere to be seen, some chose to get a burger, others sought engagement with the government, and still others simply disappeared from the scene. A word of caution to parents: please do not allow your children to become cannon fodder for politicians such as Arvind Kejriwal, Akhilesh Yadav, Chandrashekhar Azad, or others seeking political mileage. When protests turn violent, it is ordinary students and young people who face the consequences, not those who incited or encouraged them. Your children can get injured, traumatised, or even find themselves facing legal consequences if they become caught up in rioting or acts of vandalism. Those who mobilise them will not be there when it matters most. I am told that the Delhi Police has released those who were detained during the protest. At the same time, law enforcement agencies have a duty to act whenever public safety is threatened or public property is damaged. The events of the day revealed a simple truth: those claiming to lead the protest were conspicuously absent when the situation deteriorated.
