Here’s our 3-part progression: #1. 12 Seconds of Hell A continuous 4sec–4sec–4sec rep to teach layered ball pressure: 4 sec of ball tracing: hand above the ball (not across body), pressure passers, pop back on rips. 4 sec of live dribble: small space containment, stunt and recover. 4 sec of dead ball pressure: vocal pressure “DEAD DEAD DEAD,” limit vision, force back foot passes. #2. Man in the Middle A simple drill that goes back to childhood. 2 passers, 15 ft apart. No overhead passes. Defender must slap the ball to start each on-ball rep. If they force a deflection, errant pass, or movement from the receiver → passer is in the middle on defense. #3. Fake Game 1v1 with only 1 or 0 dribbles. Forces defenders to pressure and disrupt without getting blown by. If they sag too much, they give space for an easier shot or downhill free dribble. If they pressure, they learn to force wide and force tough shots. We call it HEAT. Every defender's heat is different, but everyone needs to impact the ball in some way. No spectators or statues on the ball waiting to be attacked.show more

During the confrontation, one of the men allegedly pulled out a weapon and fired multiple shots, fatally striking another man. The unidentified victim was pronounced dead at the scene. So essential, especially given that you’ll be dropping the ball lower. You have to still create time for your body to come up through. 3) lower drop table. You have to decrease the amount of time the ball is in the air. Lowering the drop table (in tandem w/ tip 2 does that). 4) hip drive. you never want to collapse underneath the ball… or you’ll actually hit it straight up. This happened in the Little League World Series in... Softball, Nevada vs. Northern California. The last inning, Nevada is losing 2-1 and the bases are loaded and there is 2 outs. 2 strikes on the batter, 0-2 and she hits a ground ball to the shortstop. The shortstop fields the ball but falls on her rear and her throw to first base is wide. Two runs score and Nevada goes up 3-2. But wait….the umpire called runner’s interference. After discussing it with the other umpires, the call stands and that is the final out. Game over. Runner’s interference is not reviewable. That’s one rule right there that needs to change. The ball reaches the shortstop BEFORE the runner does. I do not see runner’s interference. I feel bad for those girls. Don’t think they should have lost that way.
