China now has its own “Bolt” — a robot... named after sprint legend Usain Bolt. A Chinese research team has unveiled the world’s first full-size humanoid robot to reach a peak speed of 10 meters per second, setting a new global benchmark for humanoid running. Bolt runs like a body pushed to the limit. Its joints and power systems work in tight coordination, keeping it balanced even at sprint speed. Built to match the build of an adult man—1.75 meters tall and 75 kilograms—it is a life-sized system operating at the edge of physics. Compared with Usain Bolt’s iconic 9.58-second 100-meter world record, which many experts believe may stand for decades, the gap between humans and machines is narrowing fast. Chinese robots are now challenging the ceiling of human performance—much as AlphaGo once challenged Go champion Ke Jie. The breakthrough builds on earlier world-record achievements in high-speed robotic running and marks a giant leap for China in humanoid motion and control. Beyond records, Bolt also carries practical value: robots are leaving the lab and stepping into real-world settings—sports training, emergency response, and demanding industrial tasks where speed, balance and control truly matter.show more

Maintaining muscle mass, strength, and function as we age... becomes critical to our independence and quality of life. Three terms often come up in this discussion: sarcopenia, dynapenia, and powerpenia. Understanding these concepts and their implications can reshape how we think about aging and exercise. Sarcopenia is the age-related loss of muscle mass and function. It is defined by smaller muscles and a diminished ability to perform physical tasks. Sarcopenia is linked to frailty, mobility issues, and an increased risk of falls. However, muscle mass alone is not the most reliable indicator of functional ability. Dynapenia focuses on the loss of muscle strength, independent of muscle size. Strength is essential for tasks like lifting objects or climbing stairs. While strength is a critical component of function, it doesn’t account for the speed or explosiveness required in many real-world activities. Powerpenia is the age-related decline in muscle power, which is strength applied with speed. Power is often overlooked, yet it’s crucial for activities like rising from a chair, catching yourself from a fall, or navigating uneven terrain. Power combines strength with speed, making it the most functionally relevant metric for daily life and mobility. A recent article in Frontiers in Physiology (PMID: 10961295) highlights the critical role of muscle power in preserving functional independence. Research shows that power is more predictive of mobility, balance, and fall prevention than strength or muscle size alone. This finding shifts the focus from simply building muscle to enhancing the quality and speed of movement. Training to improve power—such as explosive movements, plyometric exercises, or lifting lighter weights quickly—can profoundly affect aging populations. The ability to generate force rapidly can mean the difference between a fall and staying upright or between dependence and independence. Sarcopenia, dynapenia, and powerpenia represent interconnected challenges of aging. However, prioritizing muscle power offers a unique opportunity to address the most functionally relevant decline. While maintaining muscle mass and strength is important, integrating power-focused training into your routine may yield the greatest benefits for preserving mobility and preventing disability.show more

Just generate multiple facial expressions and provide them as reference images. Then make a multi-shot prompt and you will have amazing character consistency. Prompt: shot 1: the devil talking while turning his head giving a side eye. shot 2: extreme close up of the devils eye. he winks. shot 3: extreme close up of the mouth while he turns agry. shot 4: extreme close up of his ear. small hairs are showing. shot 5. the devil sticks out his tongue while saying a licking sound shot 6: zoom out and show the devil standing in hell. People in India still don’t understand what acclimatization really... means, or how important water and oxygen are, and where we are heading with this careless travel culture. Watching reels and suddenly leaving for extreme high-altitude places is dangerous. I stayed at Umling La for almost two hours despite having medical issues, while many people can’t even stay there for 10 minutes all because I properly acclimatized, started drinking 2–3 litres of water two days before the journey, and understood how the body adapts. The worst cases are people who directly reach 18,000 ft from the plains without giving their body any time to adjust. High altitude is not a joke. Your body needs gradual adaptation, awareness, and experience built over years. But who is guiding people? No one. People just watch reels and leave. Always read about the place you are travelling to the altitude, temperature, oxygen levels, road conditions and always talk to locals before heading into extreme regions! 🙏🏻show more

Your little one is egocentric. But not in the... way you might think. We often use the term egocentric to describe adults who behave selfishly, deliberately putting their own needs and desires above those of others. When we speak of egocentrism through the lens of child development, we aren’t describing a character flaw, but rather an inability to understand the world from the perspective of others. Check out this little guy, who’s arrived to pay a visit to his cousin. He knocks on the door, but when a voice from the other side of the door asks “who is it” he answers in true toddler fashion: ME. It’s a lovely example of egocentrism in action. Not yet capable of putting himself in the shoes of the interrogator, our hero fails to recognize that everyone is “me” to themselves and that the answer - while accurate from his perspective - actually fails to provide the information being sought. Responding with his name would have been a more mature response, but it’s one that doesn’t yet occur to him at this tender age. Perspective taking is a skill that develops over time, not emerging with sophistication in many children until 4 or 5 years of age. It is the skill set that underlies the development of empathy. The developmental egocentrism of infants and toddlers is particularly important for parents to keep in mind. When your toddler does or says something you might consider inconsiderate in an older child (or adult), don’t fall into the trap of attributing intention that doesn’t really exist. Toddlers’ egocentric behaviors aren’t deliberately thoughtless… just a reflection of your little one’s developmental stage. Omega Programming: Omega programming is self-destruct programming designed as... the last line of defense to prevent information leaks. This is one of the most critical components of maintaining plausible deniability when it comes to utilizing Lone Wolf Assets Sleeper Cells. Once Assets are activated, discovered, and/or become disillusioned with their Mission or Handler... they present both direct (kinetic) and indirect (exposure) threats. Activation may be in sequence following orders in a final kamikaze¹ type mission... or may be set as a fail-safe in the event of unauthorized information access and/or transfer. Triggers for activation will be implanted / imprinted / embedded while the subject is put under a somnambulistic level of clinical hypnosis, a process assisted by administration of substances and then supplemented with technology such as Transcranial (Electro)Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) may be used for real time monitoring in conjunction with/while TMS is used to target portions of the brain such as the Temporal Lobe to elicit "vivd imagery, and the emotional commitment / sensation that something is profound, real, cosmically real, and personally significant." TMS is utilized to send "words as magnetic patterns, and even though the person isn't hearing it through their ears, their brain is interpreting it, so they're actually having fragments of experiences, as if they're hearing it when in actual fact, they cannot be. These experiences are so strong they're utterly real for the person who has them". The Wernicke's area² in the brain - the region responsible for language comprehension - is largely targeted while transmitting these 'words as magnetic patterns' in form of complete programming scripts, essentially. Scripts not only in the sense of a computer programming script... but also a 'screenplay' script, if you will. These scripts are cleverly personalized and written in an Ericksonian³ fashion to go along with and be accepted deep into the subjects psyche. All the while fMRI is utilized to monitor neuron pathways / neural networks / overall brain state and activity... analyzing and evaluating to ensure the programming is anchored into the psyche. There are thresholds and tests upon completion of a 'session'. The first 3 clips are from the 90s while Persinger⁴ was working on an early versions of this technology. Note his mention of this technology being a double edged sword, warning that "you can control people's experiences, and they don't know they are being controlled". The 4th clip is from a lecture of his in 2007... a little more openly hinting to the public at whats been going on behind the scenes. LHP Andrew Healy (Duke Baseball) is one of my... favorite Sophomore-eligible arms in this year's Draft. Enjoyed an outstanding true Freshman campaign in '23, pitching his way to a 2.32 ERA with 45 K to just 7 BB across 42.2 IP. Great body at 6'6" and 200-lbs. High-waisted with room to fill out. Smooth, aesthetically pleasing operation on the mound. Clean arm stroke and hides the ball well. Attacks from mid-three quarter slot. Pretty low effort delivery. Healy's FB will mostly sit in the 90-93 range, but he has been up to 94/95. It gets on hitters quick and plays particularly well on his arm side/elevated. Little bit of carry to it. Healy has plus command and control of it. His go-to secondary offering is a high-70s CH that on average is 10+ MPH off his FB. Healy maintains his arm speed well and it features serious late tumbling life. Had a 40% miss rate in '23. Would put a 55 on it. Healy features two distinct breaking balls in a high-70s SL and mid-70s CB. SL has long, sweeping action and is particularly deadly against LHH. After throwing it just 5% of the time in '23, Healy this fall has upped his CB usage. It's an okay 4th pitch and at times will flash some depth. Perhaps most interesting about Healy's profile is his ability to generate swings. Last year he posted a 48% overall swing rate and an impressive 70% in-zone swing rate. Overall control/command would grade out as a 60. Healy is a slam dunk starter professionally and could pitch his way into a top-3/4 round Draft choice. (📽️: Duke Baseball)show more

Just because your baby’s eyes are open doesn’t necessarily... mean they’re awake. And the same holds true in reverse. Weird, right? During active (or REM) sleep it’s not uncommon for your baby to open their eyes for brief periods, to make noises, and to move their body actively. The (open eyes) phenomenon, known as psychological lagophthalmos, is common in newborns and may be attributable in part to immaturity of their central nervous system. The important thing here is not to be too quick to assume your little one has finished sleeping just because their eyes open. This video is a great example. Baby’s eyes are partially open, but he is in the midst active sleep (which comprises half or more of each newborn sleep cycle). Likewise, there are situations where your child may appear to be asleep, but isn’t. Particularly in bright, noisy, or otherwise overstimulating environments your child may feign sleep (when they are feeling overwhelmed) as a sort of defense mechanism. This is called habituation. And while it may look like sleep it does not provide the same restorative benefits - and often concludes with prolonged periods of crying as a sort of stress relief. Long story short, you can’t always judge your baby’s level of alertness from their eyes alone - so be sensitive and observant in both circumstances. (And if you suspect your baby is habituating due to overstimulation, try to get them to an environment better suited to their needs.) This little one was shared to TT by laura.sunday.show more

5-axis CNC machining – but different... Most 5-axis machines... use serial kinematics: stack a rotary A-axis on top of a rotary B-axis, mount that on linear X/Y/Z stages. Each axis carries the weight of everything after it. Heavy and slow. 🤖 The Sprint Z3 uses parallel kinematics: three linear drives working together to create BOTH the Z-axis motion AND the A/B tilt simultaneously. No stacked rotary joints. No heavy tilting head carrying a motor on top of another motor. The entire barrel-shaped headstock moves as one unit vertically in the column, while the three internal drives handle the spindle positioning and orientation. ⚙️ How it works: Three linear actuators are arranged in a circle, all connected to the spindle platform through pivot arms. - Extend all three equally → spindle moves straight up/down (Z-axis) - Extend them different amounts → spindle tilts (A/B axes) It's using geometry instead of stacked rotary joints to create tilt 🤔 Why this is useful: Way less moving mass than serial kinematics. Less mass = faster accelerations, higher precision, better surface finish. For high-speed machining, dynamics matter more than workspace. Question: Is this a good design or overcomplicated❓show more

Self organisation is for LAZY coaches! Elite coaches should... verbalise all of the nuances of detail to maximise the performance of their athletes. Video analysis should provide you with all of the granular data so that you can make minute analysis and provide the most specific cues for each step in the sprint. 🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥🤥 At the end of last the summer I reached to Frans Bosch to bug him on all things sprinting. It’s been 3/4 years since we had spoken last so it was very refreshing to talk about what I had been witnessing whilst analysing footballers. Somethings that I learnt from him over a decade ago and have consistently used to maximise speed skills. 1) “take the arms out of the running cycle and the body will need to self organise in order to avoid over rotation and thus keep the abdominals in the sweet spot” 2) “Run bouncy with excellent co contractions between hip, knee and ankle will keep the hamstring in the sweet spot, reducing strain” 3) “Stabilise running technique by clarifying how to PROJECT , SWITCH AND REACT (PSR) over increasing amounts of velocity, vectors and variations of instability” 🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬🔬 I took the concept of PSR directly from the heuristics of dpfaff 15 years ago. A man who gives and gives and gives and gives some more. Dan let me bug him for months, write my thesis on him, then I got to stalk him daily for 3 years in the build up to the 2012 Olympics. Coaching the PSR pillers became a very helpful way of reducing the clutter of technical jargon and degrees of freedom. It focused my coaching eye and created a shared language for athletes, therapists and non technical coaches. ⚽️🏉🏈🏟️🥅🎾🏏🏐🏃🏼♀️🏃🏾🏃🏽♂️ 3 years ago I started working with Ryan Grubbs before he joined the NFL. Ryan and I put our heads together to create a system that would reduce the friction for coaches wanting to coach more efficient movement . We downloaded our brains in to a range of decision trees and algorithms and then began to support teams through our joint venture Speed Solutions We provide a unique macroscopic analysis of intense game actions (acceleration, deceleration , change of direction and max velocity). All data is visualised and compared athletes of a similar level within our data base. We have stood on the shoulders of great academic work of Ryu Nagahara Helen Bayne James Wild and Ken Clark, PhD and then layered in our experiences coaching the best athletes and players from around the world. 🤳🎥👾💻🖥️🧑💻📉📊📈 vuemotion provide us with the data and Speed Solutions provides us with the insight. Self organisation is a concept built for lazy coaches like me. Measure what matters. Coach the PSR PILLERS Design a training environment that challenges skill stability. Then Measure again. 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕🤕 This was longer than I planned (I am sick stuck in bed) , so well done if you made it this far. Mel Gibson's physical depiction of evil in The Passion... of the Christ mirrors an organism in a state of biological entropy, devoid of warmth and light. While likely an unconscious choice, Gibson’s stated goal is to represent evil as a distortion of good and order. Visually, the devil he portrays mimics the structural collapse of a biologically stressed organism. The devil's lack of eyebrows and hair is a manifestation of hypothyroidism. When the thyroid is underactive, overall energy production drops, forcing the body to forgo energy-intensive processes like hair growth and prioritize its remaining fuel for vital organs. The gaunt face reflects cortisol dominance. During periods of chronic stress, the body releases cortisol, which breaks down skin, muscle, bone, and connective tissues to provide emergency energy. This catabolic process dissolves structural proteins, leading to thinning skin and sagging, a sign of tissue wasting. Also, elevated cortisol levels forcibly redirect fat away from supportive areas like the face and deposit it in the abdomen. The devil’s pale, bloodless skin results from reduced peripheral blood flow. A hypothyroid body produces heat at a low rate, causing blood sugar levels to drop. To prevent hypothermia, the body secretes massive amounts of adrenaline, sometimes up to 30 to 40 times the normal amount (Peat, 1992). This adrenaline surge forcibly constricts blood vessels in the skin, conserving the little heat left around internal organs and leaving the skin cold and pale. The devil's androgyny is an expression of what happens to a developing organism under severe stress. A healthy, fully developed body relies on protective, differentiating hormones like progesterone and specific androgens to build structure, while a stressed organism relies on primitive emergency hormones like estrogen and cortisol (Peat, 2015). This stressed state halts proper cellular specialization and destroys the delicate hormonal ratios required for proper sexual dimorphism, pulling the organism toward an undifferentiated, amorphous, or "unisex" phenotype. The devil's behavior, especially during the manic state after Christ's resurrection, shows a reversion to the "lizard brain," or serpentine/snake-like behavior. In chronic stress, higher-order traits, such as love, creativity, empathy, cooperation, altruism, etc., are seen as expensive luxuries. When the brain lacks the ATP required to sustain these higher functions, it forcibly shuts them down to conserve fuel for basic survival. What remains is only the primitive brain stem, operating entirely on reactive survival instincts. In this low-energy, fat-oxidizing state, the devil, as shown here, becomes withdrawn, cold, angry, cancerous, and perceives the demands of the world, and the light of creation, as an active threat rather than an opportunity for expansion.show more

I am a Licensed Electrical Contractor, I work for... a company that manufactures and installs commercial LED fixtures. Just finished a job for a US Govco building. 1. The drivers work on any voltage range between 115-277 or 460-480, depending on the application. 2. Flickering (Strobing) is 95% from a Defective Driver. 3. There is no possible way all these drivers are going bad at the same time. 4. The only logical, technical answer to this is that the frequency of the power is unstable. US is 60Hz European is 50Hz. 60 or 50 Cycles per Second. For this to happen on a large scale, the Utility Provider has to have an imbalance between Production and Load. Very uncommon. 5. Excessive loads on the grid, normally the computer switches part of the load to a different substation. 6. There isn't a logical explanation for this on a wide scale, other than more planned PSYOP'S, to create more panic and fear. 7. Walmarts, Airports, Hospitals, Essential Structures like Police, Fire, etc. Are always fed from a minimum of 2 different substations. Many are fed from 3 with automatic transfer gear. 8. If this wasn't a PSYOP, or Intentional planned exercise to create more panic. Utility workers would be all over this, in less than 30 minutes. If it's doing that to the lighting, it's happening to motors, compressors, and computers. Watch the left hand so you don't pay attention to the right hand.show more
