It’s with a heavy heart that I make this... post. I don’t share much like this. As many of you know now, ✝️🇺🇸🇮🇹RoseDC11 passed away. Rose and I had been very good friends for the last several years. We talked a great deal and shared many laughs and tears. Rose was a beautiful person, caring, loving, and forgiving but she was also tenacious, pig headed, very outspoken, had a typical New Yorker mouth on her (which I loved), was very religious and she missed her brother who had proceeded her in death. And oh, she did NOT like you quote posting her. 🤣 At the time of her passing, Rose and I were not speaking, much to my own fault. I gotta’ little hot headed with her for her getting hot headed. I must have told myself a dozen times, I need to call her and apologize. And…. I never did. I was too busy, forgot, whatever, I never got around to it. Excuses be damned. And, time went by quickly and before you knew it, then the news that she had passed. Rose, I’m sorry, I hope you forgive me, I know you do. I love you and I’m glad you are with your brother in peace. For everyone else, life is too short. Say you’re sorry, let stuff go, don’t hold a grudge, let your friends & family know you love ‘em. Love you Rose. Rest in peace my dear friend. 🙏show more

We said goodbye to our beloved Odom last night... as it was his time to go. To say I am devastated would be an understatement because that dog has saved my life more times than I could even begin to fathom. To be with him at the end of his amazing life was an honor I do not take for granted. Most of my days and routines over the last few years were centered around him and ensuring that he received what he needed. Whether it was receiving insulin for his diabetes at the same times every day or planning walks and meals to accommodate what worked best for him, my schedule revolved around what he needed. To some, this might seem like a nuisance. For me, it made me better. I made his routines my routines. Walking him twice a day gave me time to reflect and appreciate all of the good in my life. Planning time for his exercise ensured I did the same for myself. Being immediately anchored by his weight on a walk because he wanted to appreciate something he had noticed taught me to slow down and take in moments in a way I wasn’t used to. His routine was my routine, and it made me better. When I first saw him at the Edmonton Humane Society Society, I wasn’t ready for a dog. My brother Alec was there, and he saw me with Odom, and he knew that I was in love immediately. I didn’t find Odom, but Odom found me. I left, not taking him home and immediately knew it was a mistake, and that he was meant to be in my life. I went to the Edmonton Humane Society the next day, 30 minutes before it opened, to ensure that I would be the first person to go through the doors. I headed straight for where Odom was, and he came home with me that day. With all of the ups and downs I have had in my life since, my love and pride in that dog were a constant. I am terribly sad, and I am taking solace in this quote from Andrew Garfield on grief: “This is all the unexpressed love, the grief that will remain with us until we pass because we never get enough time with each other, no matter if someone lives till 60, 15, or 99.” I love that dog because that dog loved me. Let’s talk about RIR, or reps in reserve. I... felt like I could get 1 more at 4 reps, yet dug deep and got almost 3 more. If I had Dorian Yates yelling at me, I could have probably gotten 10 more. The issue with these arbitrary rules like RIR and RPE is they don’t account for the mental aspect of lifting. Hence why, since I’m obviously not as smart and awesome as “the science” community and my pro card was a fluke, and I certainly can’t read studies or even the menu at IHOP, I just go until I can’t do another full rep with decent form. Most people train like p*ssies already. Imagine trying to have someone soft as charmin guess how many reps they have left at 4 reps in. Stop overthinking it. Suddenly at 11:31pm, the doorbell goes, I look to Simon and ran to the door (and I’m not allowed to run because of my disability), knowing it would have to be news about Leia and there she was! The neighbour down the road was about to go to bed but her cats kept growling at something outside so she opened the curtain and there Leia was. She recognised her from our whatsapp messages and the flyer, grabbed a carrier and managed to lure her inside with treats. She knew this return could not wait until the morning. Critical Disengagement on FSD v14.3.7. Context: The car needed... to leave the parking garage and go to HEB. It started from the second floor, made its way to the top floor, and I believe it tried to find a path through this metal wire fence. If it had gone through that, it was a 6 story drop to the ground. In the dashcam clip, it is clearly visible. You can see the car is at 4 mph throughout the whole turn and is not slowing down. It wasn't trying to park because the route was set to leave the parking garage, not park in it. Either way, driving at 4 mph inches from the fencing is not okay. I have an interior GoPro recording of the whole situation. It actually tried to drive into the fencing again after I restarted FSD. In thread 👇 Obviously since I disengaged, we don't know what it truly would have done. Maybe it would have made contact and stopped. This was as far as I was going to take it as someone responsible for the vehicle, so I believe this disengagement was fair.
