A lot of our rescues are urgent, but this... sweet little boy was in a league of his own. We found him with a severe neck injury from a piece of string that had been digging into him, but he was so incredibly terrified of humans that he actually escaped down a hole to hide. It took 36 long hours and the help of a kind local boy to finally bring him to safety, but we were never going to leave him behind. Today, that terrible pain has finally been lifted. My way of handling it… Lately, Mew’s been letting me handle it in my own way, which is to go quiet first. Because if we’re both angry, talking might just lead to more conflict. I’d rather we talked when we're both calm. I don’t like trying to resolve things in the heat of the moment. I prefer waiting until we're both calmed down. 👩: You like to take a step back first. But is Mew the type who needs to talk it out right away? Is he more hot-tempered? Mew : I have quite a temper. These days, I’m still hot-tempered, but I’ve learned how to handle things with him better. I felt that in a relationship, it’s not about winning or losing. What matters is how turn this lesson to make our love/relationship stronger/better. So I observe him like what makes him angrier, what helps calm him down and I just remember those things.
