Faraday's Law of Induction ✍️ It describes the phenomenon... of how a changing magnetic field around a wire can "force" electricity along its length. As the magnet is moved up and down through the wire coil, the magnetic flux (the number of lines of force) is constantly changing. This constant change leads to an electromotive force (EMF), which behaves like a battery, providing the necessary power for electrons to flow and generate electrical current. The video demonstrates that electricity is not produced simply by placing a magnet near the wire but rather by moving the magnet. The rate at which the magnet is moved dictates how much electricity is created. Nevertheless, as seen from the chart, the movement of electricity ceases completely when the magnet remains stationary, regardless of whether it is inside the coil. Video 📸: py6cjshow more

In the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in the... U.S. sits "Little Big Coil", the most powerful continuous magnetic field ever created by humans - reaching 48.7 tesla, over 1 million times stronger than Earth's magnetic field. This record-breaking magnet uses a hybrid design, combining superconducting coils with a resistive magnet to push matter into regimes never seen before. Backed by $195M from the NSF and ongoing state funding, NHMFL scientists use it to study quantum materials, extreme superconductivity, fusion-relevant physics, and exotic states of matter. Under fields this intense, atoms distort, electrons behave strangely, and materials reveal secrets that could redefine quantum technology, energy systems, and medical science.show more

Do you "get" it yet? THIS is how it... is done. 🛸 9 wire coils around the outside are given 3-phase power in series as U-V-W-U-V-W-U-V-W. That causes a ring of 24 small magnets arranged as NN-SS-NN-SS-NN-SS-etc to spin rapidly in a direction opposite to the rotating magnetic field, so as to provide counter-spin, relative to another magnet which is spinning forward and upward at the center of the craft. More lab videos soon! Waiting for parts to arrive. Many thanks to Normal Paulsen and Thomas Valone.show more

🚨 CHINA JUST ACTIVATED A MAGNET 700,000× STRONGER THAN... EARTH’S MAGNETIC FIELD Chinese scientists have powered up a superconducting research magnet reaching 35.6 tesla one of the strongest sustained magnetic fields ever created. For comparison: • Earth’s magnetic field ≈ 0.00005 tesla • Hospital MRI ≈ 1.5–3 tesla • This new system = 35.6 tesla And it can reportedly maintain that field for over 200 hours continuously. Why this matters: Extreme magnetic fields allow scientists to explore matter under conditions almost impossible to reproduce naturally. This could help advance: • superconductors • quantum materials • fusion research • next-generation electronics • exotic states of matter • ultra-precise molecular imaging At these field strengths, materials can begin behaving in completely unexpected ways. Electrons reorganize. Quantum effects dominate. Normal physics starts looking abnormal. The race for stronger magnetic fields is becoming a race to unlock entirely new physics. Humanity is no longer just observing extreme conditions in the universe. We’re beginning to manufacture them on Earth. Follow for more future science and technology breakthroughs.show more

this is a robot i made that automatically swaps... the build plate of my 3d printer. it extends with timing belts driven by 2 stepper motors, sucks the plate with 4 electromagnets, and turns with a pulley on the bottom. the video's sped up 4x, a cycle takes ~70 sec because the steppers skip if i try to go faster. this is because the magnet on the printer bed is insanely strong lol currently it uses a button at the bottom to trigger it to change the build plate, but i think wireless would be better. thinking of setting up MQTT on a pi zero that subscribes to the printer's topic to know when its done i got a lot of attention for my first video and i'm excited to keep sharing my work! thanks everyone 🙏show more

Mike Conley, Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles and the Utah... Jazz were up 3-1 on Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets in the 2020 playoffs. But Denver came all the way back to tie the series at 3-3. And then in Game 7... With 30 seconds to go, the score was tied 78-78, when Jokic backs down Gobert for a righty hook that put Denver up 80-78. But somehow the ball found it's way to Conley for this buzzer-beating pull up 3 for the win that rims out. I think Mike would tell you that might have been the low point of his career. There's something fitting about Conley, at 38 years old, out of nowhere, moving back into the starting lineup with his team up 3-1 on Denver. I think an earned shot at redemption.show more
