This is my "feel the AGI" moment: I used... GPT-5.6 Sol to train my own autocorrect model that outperforms GPT-5.6 Sol (wtf??) I have no ML background. I have no idea what I'm doing. I just kept pushing Sol until it spat out a SOTA model. And I spent $0. The motivation: Years of talking to AI have made me terrible at typing. Rather than fix my skill issue, I decided to throw more AI at it. My idea was: instead of autocorrect that interrupts my flow, I want to type fast with mistakes and have AI clean it up after. I wanted the smallest local model possible, for speed, for battery life, for science! So I decided to train my own. Inspired by Andrej Karpathy’s autoresearch, I ran Codex /goal with this setup: pick an experiment, try it, record the results to a doc, throw it out if it fails, and plan the next experiment without repeating failures. I gave a few examples that had to pass, tight latency targets, and let it run. Sol did some amazing things. First, it scanned benchmarks and shortlisted base models: Qwen 3.5, Gemma 4, Liquid LFM 2.5. It found a dataset on HuggingFace for typed text. Then it built a simulator for fingers striking a Mac keyboard, modeling the physical layout with a Gaussian distribution around each key. It simulated striking the wrong key, wrong order, fat-fingering, etc. With the models + data + simulator, it fine-tuned using MLX right on my MacBook. It had a working prototype within an hour! But accuracy was pretty poor. — Problem 1: Tokenization Sol read papers, ran tests, and identified that the tokenizer was the bottleneck. Tokenization makes typos hard for the model to see, so it memorizes mappings instead of using its language priors. Sol tried ByT5, Google’s tokenizer-free byte-level LLM. This made a big improvement, but the model is old and lacked the knowledge needed to reach Sol performance. Sol dug deeper and realized a tokenizer-free model isn’t needed; instead, it used T5Gemma, an encoder-decoder model. This can understand the input deeply before producing output, and furthermore, Sol could post-train the encoder to improve performance. This gave a much higher ceiling. — Problem 2: Loss function Now the model was correcting some typos perfectly, but ignoring most. Sol realized that standard cross-entropy loss was teaching the model to avoid edits, because the vast majority of characters in the training data were left unmodified. The fix was wild: Sol wrote a custom loss function that byte-aligns the source and target strings, uses a dynamic programming algorithm to compute the minimum edits between the two, then weights correct edits much higher than copies. After a lot of tuning, this dramatically improved accuracy. — Problem 3: Autoregression One failure mode remained: if the model made a mistake, it couldn’t backtrack. It could only predict the next token. Teaching it to “think” like a reasoning model would solve this, but would be far too slow. Sol found a beautiful solution: instead of greedily predicting the next token, beam search over all possibilities. This parallelizes the exploration instead of one linear chain-of-thought. At the end, choose the path with highest cumulative log probability. This worked great, but made the experience worse, since the user wouldn’t see progress until the whole search was done. To fix this, Sol made a clever observation: after each search step, the longest common prefix among surviving branches is guaranteed to appear in the final result, so it can be displayed immediately. As the search progresses, weaker paths are dropped and the prefix grows, so the user sees continuous progress. Sol built all this as a custom MLX pipeline that does the parallel decoding on the MacBook GPU, with just ~40ms TTFT. It’s crazy fast and entirely local. — Final eval (error reduction rate, higher is better): - Apple autocorrect: 49.66% - GPT-5.6 Luna: 82.47% - GPT-5.6 Terra: 87.64% - GPT-5.6 Sol: 90.56% - Our model (1.7B): 91.02% Final cost: - 1 quota reset (thanks Tibo) - $0 (And yes, I verified there's no cheating. In fact, we test words scrubbed from the training data to prove the model isn’t memorizing) There were a ton more details and tangents I could write about: contrastive learning, GRPO, DPO, dynamic masking, and more. AI has had exactly two scaling axes that worked... so far, and the second one is starting to look finite too the first one was pretraining: with scaling parameters and data, we got world knowledge (i.e. ChatGPT had read enough to know things), but it started saturating a while ago the second one was RL, and people had been doing RL the whole time before that: RLHF is RL but it never scaled far because it was trying to control the exact output, which tokens come out, how the text reads, but you can only push that so far before you’re just polishing RLVR dropped that constraint: giving the model a task, then checking whether the final answer is right, and ignoring everything in between -- so the model does whatever it wants in the middle and only the endpoint gets graded, and that’s much closer to actual RL and it’s what bought us planning and reasoning (arguably, tool use sits around 2.5 on this list -- while useful, it's not a different kind of thing) so one axis gave knowledge, the other gave reasoning, and both of them are one model working alone the next axis is how many models you can get working on the same problem, which is a different kind of axis than the previous two we know that multi-agent RL has always been the harder problem: I spent years in that literature and the gap between single-agent and multi-agent is definitely not incremental -- it’s a whole different class of difficulty! which is also why the derivatives are steep at the start, nobody has picked the easy wins yet... and the thing that gates this multi-agent coordination is communication: models can only coordinate as well as they can exchange information, and right now they do that by writing sentences to each other imagine what could we possibly achieve if we properly open that third axis development by letting models to exchange information in their native "language" without loosing any computational data that they produce during inferenceshow more

In 2021, I met a little boy in Darkuman... who was making toy cars out of pieces of wood. I remember looking at him and thinking, “This child is gifted.” But behind that gift was a painful story. Prince Kojo was being raised by a single mother who was struggling to make ends meet. He had very little support and was enduring abuse at the hands of his stepfather. Like many children born into difficult circumstances, he had talent, dreams, and potential, but not the opportunities he needed to thrive. By the grace of God, we took him under our care at For The Future Ghana, supported his education, secured a scholarship for him to study Robotics at Asustem Robotics, and helped put him on the right path to gain admission to a TVET school, where he started studying Auto Mechanics last year. Today, Prince Kojo is beginning a sponsored automotive training programme at the West African Vehicle Academy in Accra during his school vacation. Sometimes I look at his journey and wonder what would have happened if nobody had stopped to care. How many brilliant children are out there right now, full of potential but trapped by circumstances they did not choose? Prince Kojo’s story reminds me that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. And sometimes, all it takes to change a child’s life forever is one person deciding to believe in them. Who knows what is next for him? Maybe one day he will build his own automobile company. Maybe he will design vehicles that transform the industry, or perhaps he will start his own toy car manufacturing company. What I do know is this: his story is only just beginning. Your last text to me was on Friday night, making a joke about the student driver sticker on my car as my son learns to drive. I had no idea that would be our last laugh together. Back when I did traffic at WISH-TV, we were constantly texting, bonding over how much we hated getting up early, keeping up with the morning commutes, and building a friendship that only grew deeper over time. We talked about everything: our struggles, spirituality, fitness, and relationships. He became like a brother to me. I will forever cherish our late-night coffee meetups just to talk about life. This will be a long read, but I truly... hope it inspires someone. I only wish I had kept more memories honestly… Today marks one year since I moved into my own home after squatting with a family friend for two years. That period remains one of the greatest favors I have ever received in my life. They didn’t take me in as a stranger they welcomed me as a daughter, treated me as one, and even now, here in Abuja, they are my family. Today, I live in a solid two-bedroom flat in Abuja, fully furnished to my taste. I’m living a life I once only prayed for, eating well, living well all courtesy of design and Web3. This same skill once earned me ₦2,000… ₦5,000. I can never forget messaging almost every contact on my WhatsApp, begging them to let me design for free. I went from business to business around my school area, offering free designs. I even designed my school handbook for free just to put myself out there. With this same skill, I met people I once admired from afar. I was willing to design for free just to earn a tag, a shout-out, and the visibility I desperately needed. There were times I slept in school just to use the school Wi-Fi to watch YouTube tutorials, especially from Mez Graphics. Sleeping in school became a lifestyle and it came at a cost. My health suffered deeply. I went through serious health crises because I couldn’t afford medication. Home was tough. Really tough. While others slept like humans, for four years in school I averaged two hours of sleep daily, juggling academics and survival. My health paid the price. I developed growths in both eyes that now require surgery, and my eyesight deteriorated so badly that I can’t function without my glasses. Yet today, this same skill has elevated my family. From living in a single room with five kids in a rented apartment, to my mum bring a landlord. A woman who used to fall sick frequently now lives healthier, eats whatever she wants, and glows differently. Poverty truly stinks but grace changed our story. The store she owns today? Courtesy of this skill and Web3. Every property I own my store, my home, everything came through design and Web3. This same skill funds my lifestyle. This same skill, backed by God, has elevated me beyond words. I could go on and on… This is me telling someone inspiring someone not to give up on that skill you have, no matter what it is, especially as a creative. I slept on YouTube for years because I couldn’t afford to pay for a single course. I used that knowledge to design for free sometimes for one, two, even three years just to build visibility. Today, I invest as much as ₦2 million yearly into learning., i invest heavily ngl If all you can afford right now is YouTube, be diligent with it. Universities and High Schools have not moved rapidly enough... to guide students to have skills for the next decade. THEY HAVE FAILED. It is a massive crisis that can be averted by understanding what AI and Robotics will bring about. Solutions are knowing how to use these tools and new industries that will rise. But this situation is also on ALL OF US. No “job” is safe from founder to entry level in most industries. You and I, by what we do, will be “replaced” ultimately. What to do? AI and Robotics are tools, the next decade is owned by those who know how to use them expertly, but this is also temporary. We have to understand that what we do for “work” will change giving ultimately a greater value to those that are: Creative Flexible Always learning Willing to be wrong Love being human Love being alive Know history Covet wisdom Knowing all tech has downsides Building strong family and friends Realize many institutions have failed The first four are required for you to be able to live through this period with your sanity intact. The rest will allow you to thrive. There are no true careers at this point anymore. There are advocation and vocations which will either earn you money or give life meaning. We will learn that we are not “what we do”, just like we knew for 99% of human existence. Let that sink in. — You and I are far, far ahead of knowing this and we can do two things: 1) Laugh at the “clueless” 2) Help people understand with grace Go to Reddit if you are 1, in fact don’t follow me because you will not like this next decade and what I post. You are 2 and thank you. Even if you and I have not solved this issue, we can help people understand what is ahead and with determination and creativity bound together to solve it locally. Or human family has done this millions of times. The evidence is: you are here. The Neo Luddite movement has not even begun and it will potentially rip apart society even more than all the fashionable moment in the recent past has. These Luddites will have a good point with the wrong answers cooked up by dying academics that cling to labels, “virtues” and victim hood. It will be readymade for some governments to enter in as “big daddy” to “help us”. You will not like what they do, but you will only know when it is too late. It will include YOU “volunteering” to “leave” by 60, to “help out” CanadaPod style. “Brian, I’m 24 what do I do?”. I hope to do much more here to help. But I do know this: 1) Learn a trade or vocation because it’s valuable. It may also be free to low cost if you do it right. 2) Learn everything you can about USING AI and TRAINING YOUR AI. Your expertise will be in the top 1% for a decade. But not forever. 3) Understand Bitcoin and how it will rise while other things sink. This is a short list for now. We will know more moving forward. Yesterday at 3 AM Claude Code called me I... woke up, picked up the phone, and on the screen was a message: "Wallet entered BTC Up at 11 cents. Open Polymarket?" I said yes and went back to sleep Claude Code unlocked my 2nd phone on its own, opened Polymarket, found the right market, entered the amount, and hit Buy. I could see all of it in real time through the web interface on my laptop. Screenshots from the phone updating every second. By morning the position closed in profit Let me tell you how I got here A week ago I asked Claude Code to write a script that pulls on-chain data from Polymarket and ranks wallets by win rate on 15-minute BTC markets In 20 minutes I had a table with hundreds of addresses, and 1 of them stood apart from the rest. More than 200 trades per day, surgical entry precision, and a profit curve going straight up I fed that address back into Claude Code and asked it to break down the strategy. Turns out the wallet monitors BTC volatility on Binance and Bybit every 100 milliseconds, and when it drops below 0.08% it enters Up and Down simultaneously at 25 to 35 cents A pure straddle: 1 side burns and the other flies to a dollar, giving 3 to 4x per position. Dozens of times a day I wanted to follow it but signals came at any hour, and waking up every 15 minutes for a notification was simply impossible. So I built something else Took an old Android phone and installed an agent running on the Qwen3-VL visual model. It sees what is happening on the screen and mimics human actions through ADB: taps, swipes, text input. Then I connected it to Claude Code as the executor Now the chain works like this: Claude Code monitors the wallet, sees a new position, calls me. And if I say "yes" or just do not pick up within 30 seconds, the agent on the phone opens Polymarket on its own and copies the entry Essentially I built myself an autopilot out of 2 AI systems: 1 thinks and the other presses buttons. Contrail lesson! 1. “Chemtrails” don’t exist. Just to get... that out of the way. 2. Observe the satellite loop and Skew-T chart. In the IR satellite loop you can see yesterday, the West Coast had a decent short wave ridge suppressing moisture over California and Nevada. Today, you can see moisture from a low pressure over the Pacific spilling over the ridge that is now moving east of California. This is upper level moisture ADVECTING into the area. This upper level moisture is mainly above the 500mb level, or 20,000ft. 3. Now observe the Skew-T chart. Particularly clue into the 300mb level. This is a perfect example of what I talk about all the time, and why it’s important to pay attention to the 300mb level. This moisture layer is advecting particularly at the 300mb level, and synoptic scale cirrus development, and advection, typically occurs at 300mb. This is key because aircraft are flying at and above the 300mb level. 4. So, lastly, observe the pictures that I took of the sky over northern Nevada at the time of this post. You can see the layer of cirrus as well as contrails persisting in that moisture layer, exactly as depicted in the satellite shot AND confirmed by the Skew-T chart. Keep in mind that temperatures at this level of the atmosphere are typically -20 to -50°C. In this case, you can see that the temperature at 300mb is -40°C and relative humidities at this level are far different than what you experience at the surface. Any decrease in the gap between temperature and dewpoint at this level can significantly increase the relative humidity. This is why it’s referred to as “relative”because it’s far different than temperatures and dew points at the surface. So, to bring it all together, aircraft flying at these altitudes, which most commercial and military aircraft do, injecting warm, moist air from the engines rapidly into the super cooled environment, not only instantly form contrails, but when relative humidities are as depicted in this example, will enable contrails to persist for hours at a time supported by the moisture existing in that layer. This is what causes persistent contrails. These ARE NOT “chemtrails” and because they persist, does not, and will not ever, make them “chemtrails.” Now that you all needed your government to tell you that climate change was a hoax and I’ve been telling you for years that the “Geoengineering” and “chemtrail” nonsense are propaganda directly related to the climate change hoax, hopefully you can take some time to learn the basics of the atmosphere and understand what I’m showing you here, and how it works, so you’re not fooled by climate propaganda going forward. Or some trading guru with a $500 course But he explained it simpler than I expected "On Polymarket there are wallets that are consistently in profit. Not on 1 bet but on dozens in a row. I do not try to guess who wins the election or what the weather will be in Dallas. I just look at what a wallet with a 70+ win rate is doing and repeat it" He did not build models. Did not write scripts. Did not analyze news He opened Telegram and showed me a channel. Simple messages: wallet X entered position Y, price Z cents, market such and such Then he opened Polymarket and showed me his balance I am not going to name the exact number because he did not ask for that. But I will say this: it is enough for a guy in a rented apartment with 3 roommates to casually pay for dinner for 3 and not think twice I asked: "How did you figure out which wallet to follow?" He shrugged "That is the easiest part. Polymarket is blockchain. All trades are open. You go to the leaderboard, filter by win rate, look at history. If a wallet consistently enters positions at 3 to 8 cents and closes at a dollar that is not luck. That is an information edge" Then he added something that made me freeze "The funniest part is I do not even need to understand why he bets. I do not know where he gets his information. Maybe he is an insider. Maybe he has a model. Maybe he just reads news faster. I do not care. I see that he entered and I enter a minute later. Saturday, reported released a manifesto to his close family members only minutes before the shooting took place. The dinner, an annual event with President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and other Trump administration officials in attendance, was cancelled and its attendees evacuated after gun shots rang out late Saturday night. On Sunday, the New York Post obtained and published what they report to be Allen’s full, 1,052-word manifesto in which he refers to himself as “Cole ‘coldForce’ ‘Friendly Federal Assassin’ Allen.” Among the many chilling details laid out in the manifesto, included in full below, are the following: Allen maintained he was “no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor”(referencing left-wing conspiracies related to President Trump) to commit crimes. He planned to target numerous Trump administration officials “prioritized from highest-ranking to lowest.” Allen was willing to “go through most everyone” in attendance at the event “if it were absolutely necessary,” rationalizing the violence because all those present “[chose] to attend a speech by a pedophile, rapist, and traitor and are thus complicit.” Various talking points and accusations levied against President Trump in the note appear to come directly from various misleading left-wing conspiracies and talking points spread by Democratic Party members and other U.S. leftists. VTubing is for everyone! I don't like to bring... this up, but recent events in the VTuber community made some people really vile. I had my M&G at HolMat last week and had people come up and just yell at me for being a girl in the "womans world", that is VTubing, no idea about who I was, or why I was there. I had the same group return to my handler multiple times, I felt really worried about the person carrying me around having to deal with this repeatedly and tried to steer them away from the group. It seems they found my YT and left me a handful of the same comments, luckily all caught by moderation tools. While I will refrain from M&G's for a little until this calms down I want to say this; I have been managing for over 1.5 years now, I deliberately take on male VTubers to show them that they can still do it. I take on people that have babiniku accounts, those that are changing from one gender presentation to another and want help, and those that have no gender presentation in their avatar. A lot of male VTubers struggle to find a manager because the stereotype is that all male VTubers are evil and it perpetuates a stereotype that extends beyond entertainment industry subcultures like streaming. VTubing has always been a medium, while character and marketing matters, it's about what makes you happy, YOU are the person that makes the content. Use whatever you want as an avatar, use a voice changer if that's what you want to do. Every month I have a male client bring up they can't do it the same way, that it's easier if jiggle physics or a cute voice is the answer to fast growth. And I tell them yeah, I can also do ASMR, I can do drama content, collab with a larger person, and get to x amount of viewers. There are shortcuts in every entertainment profession and subculture. Does it last? Do quick fixes for anything ever last? Yes, great physics and an expensive model can get people in, but if your value, your way of interacting with people, your content plan and marketing is ass, you can pack up. Most of us start on a small budget, premade or resold models, and it's the same in the big league entertainment industry too. Can I take out a loan and put myself on a billboard tomorrow, can I pay the most expensive model artist and rigger and get in along corporate VTubers tomorrow? Sure. Will it last, will it be genuine, will people trust me? Hell no. Genuine communities and growth build trust. I think streaming, creative industries, entertainment, are full of people, regardless of gender, that will see success and call it "easy", because of what they see as the end product. They don't see most VTubers working a second job, they don't see the managers, they don't see 100+ hours a month going into content production, years invested in singing and voice lessons, model redebut after redebut. I think a lot of male VTubers get a bad rep, because so many boys are raised without putting emphasis on empathy and creativity, watching my brothers be told they should not pursue art, that theatre class is a waste of time, and that they needed to go study x or y to make money for their families in the future was heartbreaking. Nobody should have to look at others and feel so much hatred for society they turn against a whole group of people. If you want to pursue entertainment, please do. If you want to grow and try and make a name for yourself, you should start there, not with yelling about how you already failed. "Oh but I can't", "Oh but the odds are stacked against me", look at the big streamers, look at Ironmouse who overcame everything with hard work, look at Kiara who rose from the ashes, look at everyone that fights against their odds every day and give it your all.
