AI It's hard to explain how impressive this is because of the speed that xAI got itself from literally nothing to the top of the leaderboards Six months ago Grok's video model was a joke, it wasn't even close to any of the video models out there, it looked cartoony and wasn't there and nobody took it seriously Now it's here and it's instantly the #1 video model out there now, it shot above Kling (which I used before on Photo AI and usually my favorite) and above Runway Gen 4.5 which was just launched 6 days ago! Mmore importantly it's now above xAI's biggest competitors' models: Google's Veo 3 and OpenAI's Sora 2 Being the best video model doesn't mean it's flawless: video is incredibly hard and actually because it looks so realistic now when it does make a mistakes it's even funnier One thing I noticed is that it still has a hard time with is voice, it does it well for a majority of the video but then slips up and produces unintelligible blabbering (which is really funny to hear) in both English (video 1: "it's where I find my naim", what's a "naim"?), and tested it in Portuguese too (video 3 at the end is unintelligible Portuguese I believe) In many ways Grok Imagine Video also reminds me of Sora, it has that weird but funny Sora conversation style But guys it's REALLY really really really close to getting perfect, we're so close to having full video productions being to be able done in AI, actually you already can if you just cut out the bad parts already Very exciting and I'm grateful I can experience thisshow more

Do you know why I love Barcelona? Because only... in Barcelona can you stumble into all of this in one single Saturday. We started at Palau de la Música Catalana for Madama Butterfly. It's the only concert hall in Europe lit completely by daylight, through a stained glass dome built in 1908. After we walked outside, we noticed a big gathering of people, so we headed to see what was going on. A helicopter was circling the Cathedral square, dropping thousands of small poems out of the sky. Half written by Catalan poets, half by Chilean ones. I didn't know what it was at the time, but I researched it after, and it's a one-time art project called "Bombardeig de Poemes," marking 50 years since the end of the Franco dictatorship. Then, a few streets over, we found the Kiss mural. From far away, it's two people kissing. Up close, it's 4,000 individual photo tiles, each one sent in by a local back in 2014. Had no idea what it was, but apparently it's one of the most photographed spots in the city. Finally, ended the night at the Magic Fountain in Montjuïc. Built in 1929, it's free every night it runs. None of this was planned. We didn't look any of it up beforehand, we just walked into it. That's also the annoying part, you can't plan a day like this. It’s been a couple of days since our last... update on Payton’s recovery from pneumonia and cleft palate surgery. Long story short, it hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows. She’s required oxygen - finally got off of that today - and has started crying finally. Before this surgery, she cried twice in her entire life, so that’s been very difficult for us to see because it means something is wrong and upsetting her. She’s required one of us to be by her 24/7 as she’s needed suctioning CONSTANTLY with all the junk coming up and the drool, along with her frequent puking and bowel movements. The antibiotic is absolutely helping with the pneumonia, but it’s destroying her little digestive system. Please be praying that her stomach starts to not upset her as much and she can give her body a bit of rest. The plus side is that she has started sleeping like a champ at night. Previously, if we could get six straight hours of sleep, we viewed that as a really good night. The past several nights, she’s gotten eight or more straight hours to the point where our night nurses have been slightly concerned. 😂 We seem to be turning a corner though, thankfully. We’re hoping that after taking five steps back with this surgery that we can now begin the road forward to taking 20 steps with speech, eating, etc. that comes with a closed palate. And we’re still finding moments of joy like this in the midst of the toughest two weeks we can ever remember. Thank you to everyone who keeps checking in on us, bringing us meals, and praying for us. This afternoon we left the puppy at home with... uncle Jason and we went out with Detective Dug 🇨🇦. There were some dogs not on leashes (apparently the big signs pointing to the off leash area 0.8km away was too hard for their humans to understand) so I stood still on the path and had them focus on me so Dug could take his human and hide out of sight. He can get scared by strange dogs. The one dog's human kept calling him and it took forever for him to go. Maybe the human was as bad at speaking dog as they were at reading signs in human language? Then Dug and I played scent games. I've never done that away from home. It's way harder to choose which cone has the scent under it when there's strange humans and animals around. We're gonna have to really practice that! We also got to see geese and a rabbit! We stopped at the mailbox and I carried the mail home!!! It was the bestest day! Maybe almost as good as tomorrow is going to be!!!show more

For the past three to four years now, I... usually go on holiday twice a year — one international solo trip and one local family vacation. I do go for my solo vacation in spring and our family holiday is during the summer when the kids are on school break. Schools have finally shutdown for summer break last week and the kids are already all pumped up for our family vacation which will be coming up in few weeks from now. We haven't yet gone for our family summer vacation for this year but babe has already started making plans for our 2027 summer holiday. Last weekend, she brought up the idea of just the two of us going on a boat cruise next summer. She wants it to be just me and her without the kids. She suggested that we bring in a family member on invitation from Naija, such that there will be a family at home with the kids while we both go on a lovey-dovey boat cruise to western Europe. She advised that we should start saving up for the adventure by September. This woman and long term planning are five and six, and that virtue has been very helpful in helping us avoid financial pressure. We do everything with ease, thanks to her wisdom. For instance, two weeks before the end of the session that ended last week, we have already bought the kids school uniforms for 2026/27 academic session that will be starting in September; thanks to my wife's wisdom. If she hasn't suggested it, it wouldn't have even crossed my mind at all. I am awake now, staring at this beautiful woman sleeping peacefully next to me and I feel nothing but joy in my heart and total love for her. I am really blessed to have someone like her as my better half. I am the often chaotic and the more expressive person while she is the calm, quiet and better organised one. We perfectly compliment each other. It'll be our 12th anniversary in exactly a month's time from now, and I really look forward to our anniversary getaway weekend. Cheers to forever, baby.show more
