I have played with 3 Korn Ferry Tour guys... in last 3 days. I hit it just as far as they do, I am almost 46, they are 23. If you stay fit and train hard you can hold onto distance for a long time. Your lower body strength/power will dictate how far you are able to hit it.show more

If It’s Too Much, It Was Never Yours to... Finish Alone “God won’t give you more than you can handle.” Literally nowhere in the Bible! I used to hear that and think, well then I must be defective, because life is consuming me and I cannot handle any of this! That line is not Scripture. It is church-lady morphine. It sounds holy, it photographs well, and it has quietly crushed a lot of people who were already on the floor. Paul never promised you a manageable life. In 1 Corinthians 10 he is talking about temptation. God will not let you be cornered by sin with no way out. Temptation... not life. Then you get to 2 Corinthians 1 and Paul admits the opposite. Asia nearly buried them. They were pressed past their strength. Past it. Not “stretched in a growth-mindset kind of way.” Past the point where a capable person can still look competent. And the lesson was not, “Look how much we can carry if we just believe harder.” It was, “Stop trusting yourselves. Trust the God who raises the dead.” Which is darkly funny, if you think about it. The man writing half the New Testament is basically saying: yeah, this one took us out. We had nothing left. That’s when God got interesting. I have lived that. There were years I was not “overcoming.” I was surviving on spite, makeup, terrible decisions and a talent for looking fine while rotting on the inside. God did not hand me a cute little trial sized to my convenience. He let the whole house burn down. Then He met me in the ash, which is much less flattering than a testimony about how strong I am. Jesus did not say, “Come to Me after you’ve organized the chaos into something inspirational.” He said come if you are broken and weary. That is not the language of a light tote bag. That is the language of someone who should not still be standing. So, if some well-meaning soul hits you with that fortune cookie, pop bible verse while your life is actively eating you alive, you are allowed to ignore it. You are not failing because you cannot carry it. You were never meant to carry it alone. If it is too much, it is too much. Put it down where He can reach it. God will absolutely let you get hit with more than you can handle because more often than not, we find him in the ash and the broken places.show more

People keep saying, "You've been talking about her for... two years, and she hasn't said anything." So what exactly are you expecting me to do? Stay silent and pretend nothing happened? Am I not allowed to speak about how I feel I was used and betrayed in that marriage? Am I not allowed to talk about my own pain, my experiences, what I lost, or how I believe I was lured into coming to this country? Why is it that some people believe only one side should have a voice? Some of you are uncomfortable because these issues are now in the public domain. You would rather everyone acted as though nothing ever happened and quietly moved on. But that's not how life works. People process painful experiences differently, and some choose to speak about them. If you expected complete silence after everything that happened, then you're going to be disappointed. This journey isn't over yet. And yes I just recovered my old phone today.show more

POV. You’re my coffee table, I just got home... from the gym, it’s a hot sunny day so I come outside, I put my coffee down on you while I grab a chair. It burns, but it’s your job. I kick off my Nikes to release my sweaty soles, I lay back and place my feet up on you, you are instantly hit with an aroma so strong that you feel it in the back of your throat. Not only can you now taste them, but you can also feel how warm and moist they are. What a lucky coffee table you are, doing your job so well. But it doesn’t just end there. I’ve also forgotten to grab an ashtray and I don’t want to ash on my decking. So it looks like you’re now my personal ashtray. It feels so good to have a purpose doesn’t it?show more

I always find it interesting that people say "explosion"... on Charlie when the further you get away from Charlie, the louder that gunshot sound is. To me, that gunshot sounds like you would expect it to sound if you were near it and it sounds like you would expect it to sound if you were a few hundred yards away. I understand how phone microphones work and compress, but NOT ONE PODSLOPPER has debunked the acoustic proof that this was a gunshot, NOT ONE. Until you debunk that, YOU HAVE NOTHING. In this comparison, I turned the VOLUME UP on the closer microphone, you can tell I did it, it is not scientific, but believe your eyes and ears. NO EXPLOSION ON CHARLIE.
