How robust can model predictive control be if we... can solve each trajectory optimization to global optimality? On the contact-rich push-T problem, we show that model-based global optimization is so robust that it never fails, even if the model is not even correct! We achieve global optimality via sparse Moment and SOS relaxations. -- Yes, we managed to solve SDPs online on a robot. Amazing work by Shucheng Kang and Guorui Liu.show more

Malaria is a complex & unforgiving disease, but one... that we can end if we work together. Fredros Okumu & JenHatmaker discuss the global impacts of malaria and how we can advance progress against it on this episode of “Make Me Care About…”show more

🚨How do LLMs acquire human values?🤔 We often point... to preference optimization. However, in our new work, we trace how and when model values shift during post-training and uncover surprising dynamics. We ask: How do data, algorithms, and their interaction shape model values?🧵show more

In Mario Kart Wii, the Earth model is normally... preceded by a fade-in that lasts a few seconds before showing the actual model (left). If we remove said fade-in using mods, we can see that, while the fade is active, the Earth model will have broken textures (right). (1/5)show more

We are releasing the fastest TTS model as open... source! One of the biggest problems we encountered while optimizing TTS models is optimization itself. Since it is LLM-based, even optimizing with VLLM and SgLang libraries is not enough. Additionally, I made the outputs much better with special optimizations for training. The voices you are listening to are results obtained from only 20% of the model training. We trained these outputs on 8xB200 in 24 hours. Even though the dataset includes some low-quality data, the model's output is much better. We will release the code as open source tomorrow. Odyssey-3 is live. One world model trained on visual... data that can drive cars, fly drones, control robots, and even play video games. The basic premise is that it's better to train a single model across different systems instead of a new model for each system.
