Humanoid robotics has officially entered its pole dancing phase.... This prototype performs a choreographed full body sequence while gripping a fixed support pole and moving on a rotating platform. The hip knee and torso coordination is interesting. But the rig also means this is not proof of unsupported balance or autonomous locomotion. Serious motion control experiment or attention engineering?show more

If you watch the latest Optimus dancing video in... slow motion, you’ll notice that it’s not just dancing, but it’s hopping and balancing on one foot. Also, the string in the back isn’t even holding Tesla Bot up! This level of dynamic balance and control is EXTREMELY difficult to achieve for a humanoid robot. What Tesla is doing right now with Optimus is years ahead of what people realize.show more

46 AXES. A FULL-BODY TOUCH SYSTEM. THIS HUMANOID IS... BUILT TO FEEL CONTACT, NOT JUST COPY MOVEMENT! Watch the arms rise. The movement looks simple, but the interesting part is what sits behind it: a human-shaped machine designed around more than walking or waving. Vita Robotics says its bionic humanoid uses a 46-axis motion architecture, split into 23 axes in the body and 23 in the head, giving it a much wider range of movement than a basic display robot. The company also describes a full-body flexible tactile skin system, designed to detect touch and trigger physical responses. That changes the idea of what a humanoid is supposed to do: instead of only executing a programmed gesture, it is being built to react when a person interacts with it. And that is the bigger race in robotics. Making a machine move is one challenge; making it move naturally, respond to contact and behave consistently around people is another. 46 axes are not just a spec sheet. They are 46 ways for a machine to become more expressive, more responsive and harder to distinguish from a static prop.show more

1/7 — Exercise 1: Standing hip rotation The useful... part here isn't simply lifting the knee. It's controlling the leg while the pelvis stays relatively quiet. That makes this more of a control drill than a passive stretch. Move slowly enough that you can tell whether the motion is actually coming from the hip—or whether the rest of your body is helping you cheat the range.show more

The exercise looks simple, but there’s more going on... than a basic Bulgarian split squat. With the rear foot elevated and a medicine ball held in front, you’re asking the front leg to control the hip and knee while the trunk manages the added load. That combination makes this a useful drill for single-leg strength + hip stability + trunk control. The key isn’t going as deep as possible—it’s owning the position without losing balance or letting the knee collapse inward.show more

Who are you drafting for your robotic starting eleven?... ⚽️🤖 Both Booster Robotics and Boston Dynamics are showing off serious capabilities ahead of the World Cup. While Booster’s new T2 is building on a championship-winning RoboCup pedigree, Hyundai is proving the electric Atlas can handle complex full-body coordination and dynamic balance in real time.show more

No this is not a tornado...This video captures a... scud cloud interacting with a slow-moving updraft along the leading edge of a storm's outflow boundary. While local terrain can sometimes generate minor, localized circulations or "gustnadoes" in these areas, the rising motion here is far too slow to be tornadic. This visually intimidating feature is just a normal part of storm dynamics and is not a tornado.show more

PID Control: The Hidden Algorithm Behind Robotics. 🤖⚙️ You... may not see it, but PID control is everywhere in robotics. From robot arms and mobile robots to motors and industrial automation, PID helps machines maintain precise motion, speed and position. P — reacts to the current error I — corrects accumulated error D — responds to the rate of change No AI. No machine learning. Just control theory working behind the scenes to make robots move accurately and consistently. If you could master ONE control algorithm in robotics, would you choose PID? 👇 🎥 Media: medcorreia ( Instagram ) ⚠️ This content is shared for informational purposes only. A pelvic tilt isn’t automatically a problem—and you can’t... “flatten your belly” simply by straightening your pelvis. This routine uses knee-hugging, a static hip bridge, and a lying hip stretch to work on pelvic position, hip mobility, and trunk control. Those can be useful. But pelvic position is only one piece of how your abdomen looks. Ribcage position, breathing, body composition, anatomy, and how you control your trunk all matter too. The better goal? Build control—not chase a “perfect” pelvis.show more

Engineers: “This is a breakthrough in soft robotics.” Twitter:... “Bro built an AI vibrator.” 🤦‍♂️ Researchers at the University of Southern Denmark created a soft robot that moves by inflating and contracting its body like a worm. Jokes aside… robots like this could actually be useful for rescue missions and environments where traditional robots fail. But let’s be honest: you already know what most comment sections are going to talk about 💀 🎥 Media: SDU Soft Robotics ⚠️ This content is shared for informational purposes only. OPTIMUS JUMPED FROM A HELICOPTER AT 4000 METERS WITH... NO INSTRUCTOR NEXT TO IT Tesla showed the humanoid in free fall Not a marketing stunt but a test of full autonomous coordination mid air ▸ exiting the helicopter with no harness backup and no second of hesitation ▸ controlled acrobatics in airflow where one degree of tilt changes the whole trajectory ▸ chute opens and the body hangs stable under the canopy with zero jerk A skydiver trains for years so the body reads the airflow on instinct The robot gets that same skill through a model that can be copied onto a thousand other frames This is not about walking across a lab floor anymore This is about a system that does not panic with four kilometers of air under its feetshow more

EARTH IS WOBBLING THROUGH SPACE... AND ONE CYCLE TAKES... ABOUT 26,000 YEARS. Earth doesn't just rotate once every 24 hours and orbit the Sun once a year. Its rotational axis also slowly changes direction. This motion is called axial precession. Over roughly 26,000 years, Earth's axis traces a large circle across the sky. That means the star near Earth's north celestial pole changes over very long periods of time. Today: Polaris is our familiar North Star Around 3,000 BCE: Thuban was much closer to the north celestial pole Far in the future: another star will take the role of the pole star So the night sky isn't permanently fixed. Even the direction Earth points in space slowly changes. And this enormous cosmic cycle is happening right now, just far too slowly for us to notice during a human lifetime.show more

A ROBOT WALKS A WIRE OVER A 1200 M... DROP, AND WHEN AN EAGLE FLIES PAST, NOTHING BREAKS ITS FOCUS The cable is a couple centimeters wide. Below the feet, nothing but air down to the valley floor. ▸ every step on the wire is constant ankle correction, since the support rotates and flexes at the same time ▸ the eagle passes inches from its head, a sudden rush of air and visual contrast, and the system just reads it as noise ▸ full attention stays locked on the wire, no stray head or torso movement to break concentration A human tightrope walker spends years training to not react to sudden stimuli so focus never slips mid-crossing. A robot gets that same discipline from an attention-control model that can be dropped onto a different body the same day. When something alive flies inches from your head mid-crossing over a drop like that and the reaction is zero, that's not about balance anymore. That's a system telling real threats to stability apart from plain background noise.show more

Huawei's new 3D lock screen wallpaper is actually pretty... interesting. Unlike iPhone's Spatial Photo, which creates a fixed stereoscopic depth effect from a photo, this lets you scan an object 360°, generate a full 3D Gaussian Splatting asset, and use that as your lock screen. Tilt the phone and you're moving through a reconstructed 3D scene, not a fixed stereo image. The part worth paying attention to: 3D capture moving out of creative pipelines and into everyday phone personalization. That's a different kind of adoption curve.show more
