I really don't like secrets floating around in plain... text on my PC, that's why im allergic to putting them into my terminal in a form that can end up in my bash history. For that reason I added an interactive method for setting env vars on Convex. Hopefully coming soon!show more

Ran across this great article on sampled SDFs that... has *great* interactive WebGL illustrations that work really well for building intuition on how this works. This technique works for SDF-based text rendering or baking of 3D geometry like in my project.show more

Even with close confirmation I sometimes close my terminal... and think "OH FUCK NO." Coming soon to Ghostty, you can undo that. 🥰 (Technical details: we keep the terminal running for a configurable time in the background before terminating for real, similar to email undo send). (macOS only for now, AppKit APIs provide a nice undo manager implementation that eases this quite a bit. I still have to do research on GTK for Linux.)show more

I realized that if I showed my kids what... I wanted them to do, like read in the morning or spend less time on screens, I had to set the example for them. Now if a kid wakes up early, they become a part of my routine.show more

for those that don't grasp how crazy this is... GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst vs Ideogram 4.5 and by the way it's likely just simple masking/in-painting but it still surprises me it's not the default for the majority of image editing models. you can tell it's in-painting because you can see the bush around my shoulder slowly turn into a line. it's the same reason my tattoos fade on why side of my arm (the closest to my t-shirt). no excuse for chopping of half of my head though. I'm going to have to try a workflow where I use this on every frame of a video.show more

I'm struggling to describe how I feel with words... right now I got woken up by a call from a friend at 02:56 in the morning, I decline, and for a second I see in my notifications "bro please for the love of god sell", then I get another call but I pick up - "bro your up 50k on my mother your up 50k" I was shaking for at least 30 minutes, I couldn't believe my eyes, for the first time in my life I felt like I was dreaming and I had to ask my friends if this was reality While I was journaling this moment I also found that in my journal I wrote "I will run my port up to 6 figs" three times in a row, which I think I wrote when I was about to zero out, I was manifesting this moment when it seemed impossible I've never felt like this in my entire life I can now say, that i've hit 6 figs. It's not the first time, but this time it feels way different I want to say a lot more things but I guess ill end this off by saying that anything is possible, I had 1.7k left 44 days ago, and with the correct mindset and discipline I was able to turn things around in a way I still can't believe I will be posting recaps on my YouTube as soon as i'm back home which is in around 8-9 days This is genuinely surreal, anything is possible +$37.4Kshow more

Yaxel Lendeborg says acting was his intended college major... and he’s hoping to find acting gigs in San Francisco: “I acted in a play in high school. The play was Elf. I was gonna go to college for acting, for theater and stuff like that. So when I actually got to college, that was my major. Kind of switched plans a little bit because of the basketball thing, but I would love to be an actor. Be in a musical if I need to. When I’m in San Francisco, hopefully I can find some little gig to get on, and hopefully somebody can put me in a movie.”show more

I think so many concepts in design need to... really be felt and played with, not just shown. That's why Interface Craft is full of interactive figures that demonstrate topics. I always look forward to making them; this is one of my favorites!show more

To those who say "it's her choice" I used... to say the same thing about my own Hijab. I was covered head to toe. Even on the beach. Even with my male relatives. And when people challenged me, I said: this is my choice. You know why? Because the other option was burning in hell, hung by my hair for eternity. That's what they taught me since childhood. Yes, let me repeat it for you to just understand about our version of “freedom of choice.” I grew up in an Islamist culture that gave me two options. Cover yourself and go to heaven. Or don't cover, and be hanged by your hair and burned in hell. Like when someone puts a gun to your head and says "you can go left or right", technically, yes, that's a choice. I picked heaven. I called it freedom. And I believed it, because that's what happens when fear is all you've ever known. And if you think I shouldn't be telling you my story, I don't care. I really, genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, don't care. The women still living under that "choice"? I care about them. #LetUsTalkshow more
