Microsoft is testing a new feature in Windows 11... called Low Latency Profile that gives a short boost to your CPU for 1 to 3 seconds when you open apps or menus. Early tests show Microsoft apps like Edge and Outlook open up to 40% faster, while the Start menu and other menus can load up to 70% faster, with CPU use jumping high for a few seconds then dropping right back down. Microsoft says this is normal because Apple does it in macOS and Linux, plus phones use the same type of quick CPU boosts for better speed. The feature is only in early Insider testing now, so it is not out for everyone yet.show more

Windows 11’s June 2026 Patch Tuesday update is out... today, and the biggest change is Performance, not AI. Windows 11 KB5094126 finally brings Microsoft’s new Low Latency Profile to everyone. Microsoft calls it a “General Performance” improvement, but the idea is simple: when you open Start, Search, Action Center, or key shell experiences, Windows briefly pushes the CPU to max frequency for 1–3 seconds so the UI responds faster. I tested it earlier, and the difference is most obvious on budget PCs. Start feels snappier, Search opens faster, and those tiny Windows 11 micro-stutters are reduced. The catch: because of Microsoft’s Controlled Feature Rollout, installing today’s update does not guarantee it is enabled yet. First day in studio today for something different to... add to the CV. When I was at school I was so dyslexic that I wasn’t allowed to do French because I couldn’t read or write in English let alone anything else. I left school at 16 - it wasn’t for me! Fast forward to working life and I never pushed for studio work at Sky because I was terrified that I wouldn’t be able to cope with the French content we show on the channel. One cool use for Atlas is creating "bullet time"-style... effects using only a few cameras. In this case, I was able to use 3 iPhones + my finely honed juggling skillz to synthesize a smooth camera trajectory between each pair of cameras. Also I layered in an AI-generated beats because that's just the world we live in now. Deal with it.show more

Xenoverse 2's Infinite History DLC seems to have gotten... a bug with the recent XV2 update. If you play the "Rivaled only by One" path in the "Unwelcome Challenger" quest, the game will crash once Vegeta wants to transform into Super Saiyan. So far I can only confirm this issue exists on Xbox, I tested it on my PlayStation as well and the quest worked fine there.
