These old trees are dying 🌳😓 But it wasn't... the Ivy that has been cut away that is killing them the culprit is simply old age🌿 These Alder trees only live for about as long as we do and so by cutting the Ivy🌿 off the only thing the well meaning culprit has achieved is to deny wildlife refuge and nutrition 💮🍇 The trees are still going to go for the long sleep but they would have continued to stand and support the Ivy allowing it to do it's work for years to come. Right now the Ivy in Ireland is begining to flower and will sustain 🐝 & other insects well into late Autumn 🍂 These flowers will be followed by fat-rich berries 🍇 that will keep birds going through the winter Ivy does not kill trees. It is an essential part of our natural ecosystem so please leave it be 🌳🌳🍂💜🍂🌳🌳show more
