Let me talk about the improvements in One UI... 9.0 Beta 4. Here are the two changes I've noticed the most: 1. The Gallery animation has been fixed. The stutter when exiting the Gallery is gone. Returning from the Gallery is now smooth and fluid. 2. Gesture navigation feels more responsive. Samsung has improved the initial responsiveness of the back gesture. When swiping to return to the Home screen, the animation now feels noticeably smoother and more natural. I'm currently at Disneyland, waiting for the fireworks to begin. While I had some time to spare, I recorded two videos to show you exactly what I mean.show more

One UI, including One UI 8.5, has a long-standing... issue with the back gesture: lag. My finger moves, but the animation lags and doesn't follow the finger's response. This puts it behind all other OSes. Comparing One UI 8.5 with vivo's OriginOS5 and OriginOS6 reveals that Samsung's gesture response is the slowest, and I haven't been able to resolve the issue with Home Up. Samsung needs to optimize this. Another problem is that the icons in Samsung's animation are too ugly when they are shrunk. The icons are forcibly stretched to cover the page. Samsung borrowed this from OriginOS 5 at the time, but vivo fixed the problem in OriginOS6, and Samsung One UI 8.5 still has no improvement.show more

It’s hard to see all the animation when it’s... so far away so I zoomed in, and tweaked some of the sounds and slightly changed the animation to be more smooth.show more

One UI 8.5 vs. One UI 9.0 In One... UI 8.5, when Privacy Display is enabled for a floating window, the entire screen enters privacy mode, including everything outside the floating window. With One UI 9.0, Samsung has significantly refined the feature. Only the floating window remains protected by Privacy Display, while the rest of the screen stays fully visible and unaffected. It's a much more precise implementation that improves both usability and the multitasking experience.show more

Dear X Design Who thought replacing the native Android... gallery with the Google Photos media picker was a good idea? 🤦‍♂️ On Galaxy phones, I expect the app to open Samsung Gallery, not Google Photos. Now I have to: ❌ Dig through folders every time ❌ Re-select the same folder for every new attachment ❌ Spend more time finding photos than actually posting This is a massive UX downgrade. Android isn't one-size-fits-all. Respect OEM gallery apps and use the native media picker instead. Samsung Members gets this right. I've attached a video showing the difference. Agree? Been up to the vet, most certainly a small... stroke. He is much steadier, we’ve to have a couple of quiet days. I took the first two videos at 7am (to show the vet) and the other two just now, quite a big difference. Unfortunately he may have more strokes as time goes on.show more

One UI 8.5 is disappointing. The problem of the... mis-sliding bug triggered when this gesture is returned has been about 10 versions since I first raised this issue, but it has not been solved so far. They don't seem to want to solve this problem at all. So don't tell me they will solve it during the Beta period. They don't seem to want to solve it at all.show more

There is a "flash" bug in the One UI... 7 Beta1 animation. In fact, there are at least three versions of this problem. Samsung seems to have not found it, so it has not been solved. You only need to open two apps in succession a little quickly (not particularly fast)，You will see a quick flicker in the picture. The first video is played at normal speed, and you can see a flash picture. The second video is a slow video, and you can see the moment when the soul of a page flashes in the ninth second. I havent seen anyone post about it but one... thing that stood out to me the most from the MW4 briefing is how sick the Tactical Nuke animation is. Tactical Nuke is back but the animation is completely different. You call it in a small phone and then a buckle into a skyhook a plane grabs right before the nuke drops and you look back at the map getting nuked. You also flip the map off as you fly away Its one of the sickest things I saw. The video below is an example from MW3 of what i mean.show more
