This parallel across Spider-Man 1 and 3 reveals everything... about how Peter sees himself In Spider-Man (2002), MJ asks “Who are you?” after he saves her. He answers proudly: “Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.” He just got his powers. He’s confident. He knows exactly who he is. In Spider-Man 3, she asks the same question to Peter, not the hero, but the man. He answers: “I don’t know.” The symbiote has changed him. He no longer recognizes himself. Same question. Two completely different men.show more
