my grandma is 85. she is a pillar of... her community in Lujan de Cuyo, a small town in Argentina where I was born. today, she got diagnosed with dementia. up until 4 months ago, she would cook fresh meals every single day, walk at least 10,000 steps at 6AM, and do pilates 3x a week. she took care of herself at the highest standard and took care of others just as intentionally. she is the wise matron of the family that has held us all together. she is the living definition of discipline and strength and warmth which is what I admired the most in her. my grandma would knit and bake and sell what she made to make ends meet when my grandpa abandoned her with 2 kids. when I came along she used to take me on long walks and share songs with me. she taught me her empanadas de carne recipe when I started living alone and cooking for myself. through her lifestyle and her choices she taught me that there is no excuse, and there are no shortcuts. you can be 85 and take care of yourself like you’re 25. and you can do all of that on top of raising children, being a sounding board for others, and holding the entire family together. i can’t believe how fast her dementia has progressed. i am genuinely stunned. having my grandma change so suddenly from the superwoman that she’s been my entire life is a new type of pain that i did not emotionally prepare for. life is precious, our mind is precious. i’m lucky to have had 27 years with the most wonderful present version of my grandma.show more

Do you understand what that means? It means that the original foot wasn’t modified, but because of the format it was in (fisheye/surveillance video) it was “in effect” modified. Meaning that she (or more likely her government source) modified the video/still frame to “correct” the manner in which the surveillance video was “in effect modified”. I will be revisiting my original post to make sure the community note is taken down. This is exactly what I have been saying from the beginning. Her government source corrected the original surveillance video to make it look “normal”, because the original surveillance video that was actually submitted as evidence was, in Candice‘s opinion, “in effect modified”. I met Anee Icha at the audition for Castle... and castle many years ago. Then we worked on the show where she played the crazy receptionist. While directing her, I realized she had great comedic timing and fantastic improv skill. So I told her, one day I’m going to write a crazy story about a very clumsy girl and you will star in it. Somehow we lost touch and I completely forgot. It didn’t happen till three years later when she ran into me at a supermarket. She reminded me that we still hadn’t made this our movie. Coincidentally I was looking for a story that will make us build an extensive set design and VFX just to show off the skills of my Anthill Studios team. That night, the idea for Casa de Novia came to me. I called up my trusted writer Weaver of stories and showed her clips of Anee and we wrote the film for her. I’m glad Anee is getting all the praises and I want to see her do more films like this. Clumsy girl comedy is a big hit potential and we need more crazy ideas in Nollywood.show more
