Sahih al-Bukhari (Book 78, Hadith 73): Narrated Abu Bakra: A man was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet (s), and another man praised him greatly. The Prophet (s) said: “Woe to you! You have cut your companion’s neck,” repeating it several times. “If one of you must praise, let him say: ‘I think so-and-so is such and such,’ if he truly thinks that, and ‘Allah is his Reckoner,’ and do not ascribe purity to anyone before Allah.” (Bukhari 6061) 3. Sahih Muslim (Book 32, Hadith 3000): Narrated by Miqdad: The Prophet (s) ordered us to throw dust in the faces of those who praise people to their faces. ✅ Why is it discouraged? It may lead to arrogance or delusion in the person being praised. It often becomes insincere or exaggerated, especially in front of rulers or people of status. True worth is only known to Allah, not based on public flattery. To those who say "it's her choice" I used... to say the same thing about my own Hijab. I was covered head to toe. Even on the beach. Even with my male relatives.
