I think many people missed my point and started... being suspicious and/or mean for literally no reason. I'm just sharing my knowledge and experience. I was only showing how I can retain a sharp elbow shape when arm is bent. Some people rig an extra bone to keep that sharp elbow. I'm showing that you don't necessarily need it. That's literally all I wanted to convey. Strategic topology + weightpaint can do so much if you're not making hyperrealism. It has its limits, but it's up to you how far you want to push the limits. I prefer simplicity for convenience as far as it allows me. I personally do anime and stylistic stuff, leaning towards aesthetic rigging solutions over hyperrealism in some cases. I like when things just look nice and smooth. If you only want to focus on the very extreme cases of bending limbs and fat/muscle movement, that's fine, but it was not the focus in previous video.show more

This morning I, Chesnyy the Professional Good Girl™ and... head of the Safety Committee, went to the wheelchair accessible pier at a stocked pond at a local park. Unprecedented amounts of rain have made the water level unusually high. I went on the recon mission and determined that it's definitely too deep for a power wheelchair right now. After some discussion, I'm going to experiment with focusing... on an almost 'heist-like' aspect to the game. When you first arrive the house is dark and the ghosts unbothered. As you make noise and create a disturbance the house slowly comes alive. (for example fuseboxes let you turn on the lights, but generate a burst of activity when flipped on) I think this might change the ghost hand dynamic. Maybe instead of an enemy that grabs you, and you break free from, they are instead a trap that when they grab you, the struggle is to not make noise while they're having their fun?show more

I'm seeing a lot of people saying it is... just a bad upscaling instead of Gen AI, but it is indeed Gen AI animation. There are things going on in it that just don't make any sense for puppet animation. Here are some parts that make it clear, I slowed down the video so it's easier to notice the chunky parts. I checked the past ADs and it's possible to notice details (from an animator's POV) that are common and make sense for human work, so it was definitely a choice to use AI on this new ADshow more

Sharing some more UI previews for Superlogical, this time... the "tab peek." If you three-finger swipe down, you can "peek" at the other session tabs. These are live-updating, metal-rendered previews including splits. If you keep dragging, you enter a "mission control" style mode. This is one of those UI patterns that once you get used to, you mindlessly find yourself doing it ALL THE TIME. It's a great way to quickly take a look at everything thats going on. You aren't reading the mini text of course, but the shape of it tells you a lot about where things are. The peek pushes the terminal down off screen, it doesn't resize it, so it doesn't force any weird reflow or anything either. There's a lot more to talk about, especially about how this interacts with how we expose what needs attention so you can easily find the terminals/sessions/etc. that require your attention. Of course, you'll be able to drive this with the keyboard too. :) As always, a disclaimer: this is all early work subject to change, just trying to share some of what we're building in public.
