Something happened this morning that really touched my heart.... ❤️ My son, who is autistic, has always struggled whenever it’s time to barb his hair. He would cry, scream and make noises, and some people at the barbing salon would talk down on him because they didn’t understand what he was going through. Because of this, I arranged for a barber to come and barb his hair at home. But after some time, the barber stopped coming. A few days ago, my son told me he wanted to barb his hair. I told him, “Okay, I’ll take you.” I called the barber and asked him to let me know whenever the salon was empty so I could bring my son without exposing him to unnecessary embarrassment. This morning, he called and said, “Nobody is here. You can bring him.” We got there, and something amazing happened. My son sat down by himself. I didn’t have to hold him. He didn’t cry. He didn’t scream. He didn’t make any noise. He simply sat there and allowed the barber to do his job perfectly. 😯❤️ I was shocked. I kept looking at him like, “Is this really my son?” 😂 God, thank You! 🙏🏽 Maturity is setting in gradually, and moments like this remind me that our children are growing, learning and making progress even when the progress may not happen as quickly as we expect.
