This morning our Samaritan's Purse cargo plane left North... Carolina with nearly 85,000 pounds of emergency supplies for Nepal. These photos show some of the communities where we are working. A massive flash flood, originating in Tibet, tore through... central Nepal on Wednesday, leaving at least 95 people dead and nearly 500 others missing, among them 105 Indians. The floodwaters surged through the Bhote Koshi River around 9 am local time, first hitting Rasuwa and Dhading districts along the Tibet border before sweeping into Nuwakot and Chitawan. Entire towns and villages were left devastated as the water crashed through, tearing down at least four permanent bridges and several temporary ones, and severely damaging over a dozen hydropower projects in its path.
