🌒☀️ THE UK’S BIGGEST SOLAR ECLIPSE SINCE 1999 IS... ALMOST HERE! ☀️🌒 Good afternoon everyone, On Wednesday 12th August, people across the UK will have the chance to witness the greatest solar eclipse visible from the UK since the famous 1999 eclipse — and we won’t get another eclipse this impressive from the UK until 2081! 🤯 Exactly how much of the Sun disappears behind the Moon — and the time of maximum eclipse — will depend on where you are in the country. Some western areas will get an especially impressive view as the eclipse takes place during the evening and heads towards sunset. 🌅🌒 ⚠️ PLEASE PROTECT YOUR EYES! Never look directly at the Sun, even when most of it is covered by the Moon. Use proper certified solar-eclipse glasses or an indirect viewing method such as a pinhole projector. Ordinary sunglasses are NOT safe. 📲 Please share or forward this to your family and friends so they know there’s something rather special happening in the sky on Wednesday evening! After all, the next comparable UK opportunity is a very long wait… 2081! 😳☀️🌒show more
