Secret’s body started shutting down yesterday and she was... having more and more difficulty breathing. I could not let her go on anymore. It’s with a heavy heart that I make this... post. I don’t share much like this. As many of you know now, ✝️🇺🇸🇮🇹RoseDC11 passed away. Rose and I had been very good friends for the last several years. We talked a great deal and shared many laughs and tears. Rose was a beautiful person, caring, loving, and forgiving but she was also tenacious, pig headed, very outspoken, had a typical New Yorker mouth on her (which I loved), was very religious and she missed her brother who had proceeded her in death. And oh, she did NOT like you quote posting her. 🤣 At the time of her passing, Rose and I were not speaking, much to my own fault. I gotta’ little hot headed with her for her getting hot headed. I must have told myself a dozen times, I need to call her and apologize. And…. I never did. I was too busy, forgot, whatever, I never got around to it. Excuses be damned. And, time went by quickly and before you knew it, then the news that she had passed. Rose, I’m sorry, I hope you forgive me, I know you do. I love you and I’m glad you are with your brother in peace. For everyone else, life is too short. Say you’re sorry, let stuff go, don’t hold a grudge, let your friends & family know you love ‘em. Love you Rose. Rest in peace my dear friend. 🙏show more

🤒😭Unfortunately I am very unwell, my friends. I have... not been feeling my best the past couple of days, and I have been growing more tired every minute. Last night was miserable, I was in so much pain I could not sleep, the pain in my head and in my body was causing me hallucinations and I felt as though I would die. This morning was not any better and I was so dizzy I could not see properly, and I felt so tired I could not describe it. I have just returned from the hospital, my friends, where I was able to receive a treatment to help me feel only a little better. I am still so exhausted, not only physically but mentally too. The fear of famine and death in a horrific way is still on my mind, even through this terrible pain. I'd be very grateful if you could pray for us all, for a better situation ahead, and for an end to this cruelty against us. My surgery went well yesterday - thank you everyone... for all the kind words and prayers. I know this corner of ours means it when they say it. Lotta pain, but that's to be expected. Now lemme put a smile on your face: We've done this so many times with old shelter dogs, and the pattern is almost always the same - when they get here, they're usually nervous and quiet; unsure of what is in store and what their life is gonna be like. After being here with me, OBX Dog Walker and the rest of the dogs, they start to relax and be the dog they wanna be; the dog they were or could have been before they were abandoned. Molly was so quiet and reserved when we got her, and now? Yeah. She's right at home, letting me know I need to get off my ass and feed her. Love to see it. And I'm grateful to all of you.show more

People love to speculate whether I’m “still Mormon”. On... paper it may seem like I’m not anymore because I actively support the LGBTQ+ community, I wear sleeveless shirts sometimes and now “SHE DRINKS COFFEE!” For waaaay too long I defined my connection to God by a huge lists of rules and that lead to so much shame. I don’t let shame govern me anymore and surprisingly, I’ve felt God’s love more than ever. The fact is, I love my Mormon faith upbringing and the connection with God it gives me. I also LOVE all the beautiful things I’ve learned from other religions. I think God gives truth everywhere.
