Smooth enough?

Is this smooth enough?

Smooth enough to get away with it.

⚡️A reporter interviews a female humanoid. Could it truly... understand her questions? Words alone would not be enough. People interrupt, change direction and hide meaning behind tone or expression. A social robot has to follow that mess without making every answer feel rehearsed. Timing matters too. A pause that lasts one second too long can make the whole exchange feel unnatural. Once these conversations become smooth, interviews may stop feeling like demonstrations. Which question would reveal genuine understanding better than a memorized answer?show more

40+ UGC is the most underserved market right now.... brands are desperate for it. i can't find enough models to keep up with demand. meanwhile AI slop accounts are getting 5M+ views posting fake "hot moms over 40" generated images. if AI garbage gets 5M views, real 40+ creators will 10x that. > actual skin texture sells better than AI smooth > real hands with veins and rings > voice that doesn't sound like a college kid > inherent trust from real humans the supply gap is massive and nobody's solving it. whoever cracks 40+ sourcing at scale owns the next UGC vertical.show more

💥 LeRobot × Zenoh Remote inference just landed in... LeRobot: the policy runs on a GPU server or cloud, the robot keeps moving. Cameras, motors and recording stay on the robot computer, actions stream back. What this unblocks: 🤖 Robot side: a laptop or a small board is enough for cameras, motors, teleop and recording. 🖥️ Server side: big model checkpoints run on a GPU server or in the cloud. 🏃 Smooth motion, with or without RTC: the next action chunk is predicted while the current one executes, and new chunks are aligned and blended into the ongoing motion. 🔌 Works on the same machine, over the lab network, or across the internet through a Zenoh router with TLS.show more

Nice! There was a bunch of 172s in the... pattern at MZJ today when we were leaving… one of them was nice enough to extend downwind a while so we could beat a clearance void time. We get clearance by phone from Tucson approach just like GA does… they gave us 4 mins to be airborne! Ride was surprisingly smooth all the way across the lower 48 despite some big cells over the gulf (we topped most of them at FL410) and then again just west of Miami. Finished up at Extreme, an MRO with a bunch of big metal around, so they towed us in and played Tetris.. Fortunately our MIA AA flight was delayed and it worked out in our favor and actually made it home tonight! Saw the 21Air wreckage…show more

On the left is the default animation of the... Samsung One UI 9. On the right is a standard animation that I designed（Ice Home Up）. Over the past few days, I've made extensive modifications and improvements to Samsung's system animations. As you can see, the opening and closing animations now feel much lighter, smoother, and more natural. The entire transition is more fluid, with greater elasticity and a stronger sense of depth. Compared to Samsung's official animations, which often feel somewhat rigid and abrupt, I wanted to create something that truly feels alive and flows naturally. I've also made some special improvements to background blur. I want to prove through my own work that Samsung phones are absolutely capable of delivering perfectly smooth animations even with background blur enabled. Previously, Samsung's Home Up team suggested that background blur could increase system load, causing lag or overheating. But based on my own testing, I find that explanation highly questionable. With proper design and optimization, background blur and smooth animations can absolutely coexist. What's more, my implementation supports progressive background blur with highly customizable parameters. You can freely adjust the blur intensity, transition behavior, and various other details to create exactly the visual experience you want. What surprised me the most is that once you actually start designing animations yourself, studying every frame, experimenting with motion curves, and fine-tuning countless parameters, you begin to realize just how much room Samsung still has for improvement. I used to simply think Samsung's animations weren't good enough. But after working on them myself, I'm increasingly convinced that Samsung's software team simply hasn't put enough effort into animation design. There are so many effects that could be more refined, more natural, and more fluid. Yet Samsung seems unwilling to seriously explore these possibilities. And that's exactly why I keep working on these animations. I want to prove that Samsung phones are capable of delivering animations far better than what we have today.show more

🇮🇱 A new video of Nethanyahu appeared showing him... visiting a coffee shop. It is AI or real? Again I'm not sure (how can one be today) but there sure are enough strange elements, here's my take: - The video is EXACTLY 1 min long 🤔 - There's a cut just before he shows his hands? suggesting editing. - The cup seems to be filled to the edge though there's no spilling. And unrealistic coffee surface movement - More frame jumps further into the video. - Why is the guy in the back wearing sunglasses and a mask? - Nethanyahu's skin is very smooth, skin tone and overall lightning is also very uniform. - The shoe coming into the frame at the bottom right at the very end seems strange. It taps on the floor and then slides forward. When you get up from a chair you pull your feet backwards. If someone was standing already you don't slide your shoe across the floor and the body would most likely be in the frame also.show more

The Golf GTD was built for the German Autobahn.... Not the school run. The EA288 2.0L diesel in the GTD produces 184 PS and 380 Nm. On a long motorway run it is smooth, economical, genuinely quick, and one of the most complete daily driver diesels of its generation, especially the Variant estate. On short trips under 15 km it becomes a problem waiting to happen. A diesel engine needs to reach full operating temperature, typically 80-90 degrees C coolant, with exhaust temperatures high enough to initiate DPF regeneration. In the GTD, that takes at least 30 minutes of sustained driving on a motorway at a steady pace. A 10 minute trip to the supermarket achieves neither. Every cold start creates more soot than a warm one. Every interrupted short trip deposits more of it into the DPF before the filter has had a chance to clean itself. The result is a progressively clogged DPF, rising oil level from diesel dilution as the engine tries and fails to regenerate, and eventually limp mode. On short trips, the DSG also suffers, especially in city driving, but that can be said about any DSG. If your journeys are mostly under 20 km, the Golf GTI is the better car. Same body, but no DPF, no AdBlue, no regeneration anxiety. Possibly more fun too.show more
