Rachel Maddow is oddly obsessed. She's now suggesting I... should cancel a full day of events with constituents (that took months of planning) in order to accept a last-minute invitation from an extreme partisan group. Specifically, she'd have me cancel on: Big Brothers Big Sisters, South Tahoe High School, the South Tahoe Airport, the South Tahoe Chamber, Carson Mill, South Tahoe Community College, South Tahoe Public Utilities District, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, North Tahoe Public Utilities District, the League to Save Lake Tahoe, County Supervisors, and City Council Members. Many of these individuals and groups I worked closely with in getting the landmark Lake Tahoe Restoration Reauthorization Act signed into law last year. This legislation authorized $415 million in federal funding for the Tahoe basin over the next decade, including $150 million for fire prevention. Since Ms. Maddow is featuring me on her program every evening, I'd be happy to appear for a discussion of why she thinks this is less important than participating in rallies by far-left partisan organizations.show more
