Angel Reese gets out on a fast break. Shakira Austin utilizes a “take foul.” A take foul is when a defender deliberately commits a foul to stop an offensive player from scoring. Shakira takes out Angel’s legs. Then she whacks her across the arm. The message is simple: I am sending her to the line INTENTIONALLY to shoot a pair, rather than giving her a lay-up.
