testing some more ways of doing webgpu wind line... LOD with WindBorne Systems weathermesh 6 datashow more

testing some wind line LOD stuff

okay I think I have made the best webgpu... wind line LOD system I can. continuous adding / subtracting of lines to maintain screen space density rather than discrete LOD levels, morphing when changing wind layersshow more

tiled dynamic LOD wind lines down to three draw calls

globe showing windborne weathermesh6 outputs from sept 1-9, takes... about 2GB of VRAM to load it all. layers are precip, 10m wind, and mean sea level pressureshow more

threejs globe with satellites, ERA5 wind data, HDRI lighting, etc

making my threejs / webgpu star renderer (planetarium?) more... of a real thing. renders 44 million stars from the gaia star catalog at 120 fps. there's no LOD/culling. every star in frame is drawn. next is adding a nice API for agents to write "tours" that play automaticallyshow more

some volumetric testing in threejs

prototype of a recursive time helix calendar/history, with nested... coils from centuries -> decades -> years -> days -> hours -> minutes -> seconds. labels need some work but it's the start of something. based almost entirely on Tim Babb 's sketch/idea. in threejs/webgpushow more

started building a webgpu site for displaying longer writing... with shaders but ended up getting distracted by code highlightingshow more

ascii fluid. in threejs / tsl / webgpu

asked codex to download 106 days of hourly high... resolution rapid refresh wind data and make a video where each frame is one snapshot. it made this. (it's upside down. coding agent coordinate system flips are ever-present)show more

Doing 10 x with 40% less 🤯 “Our combined... West and Palantir Systems team is some 10x more effective in multiple ways of measuring than we were just 3 years ago, while also being 30% to 40% smaller than when we began.”show more
